September 3rd: Part 11 (9(がつ)()()()()()()()()()3()()()()()()()()()()⑪, Kugatsu Mikka (Jū Ichi)) is the 95th chapter of the Hunter × Hunter manga, written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi.

Synopsis[]

At the Hotel Beitacle, six assassins wait in a room and are joined by Silva and Zeno Zoldyck. Several Mafia members also enter the room, and one named Zenji first points out that everyone seems to be there, but another tells him that the Nostrade Family is sending one more person. Zenji mocks Light, and another reminds him that his own boss depends on Neon's fortunes. Zenji replies that Light isn't his boss and adds that he can be aggravated if he wants to be.

Chap 95 - Kurapika and Light arriving at the meeting

Kurapika and Light arriving at the meeting

After Kurapika and Light finally join the meeting, Zenji starts by telling the group of assassins that their job is to kill the Phantom Troupe, warning that they may try to attack the auction again. He leaves the method to their discretion and says that they can ask if they need anything. Assassin D asks for a floor plan of the Cemetery Building, and Assassin E asks for a map. The former says that they should pick code names, with the latter adding that colors should work. Assassin F asks to be called "Blue", and Assassin C says that he wants to be "Red".

Zeno dryly remarks that they're acting like it's a game, and Assassin D asks them what colors they want. However, Silva and Zeno simply give their names and tell the others to call them what they want, stressing that they won't be taking orders from them. Assassin F realizes that they are the legendary Zoldycks that no one has ever seen, shocked that they actually use their real last name. Zeno gives him a card with their address and phone number, offering him a 30% discount if he needs anyone killed.

Kurapika understands that the two are from Killua's family, also recognizing that they are clearly more intimidating than the others and that the only ones who can compete with them are Assassin A and Assassin B. Assassin A scoffs at the idea of code names and says that they should all work alone. Assassin B agrees and says that they each have their own style, adding that he will do what he wants. Assassin D worries that working alone may be too dangerous against the Troupe, and Assassin E agrees that they need at least some teamwork in order to succeed. Assassin A asks for Kurapika's opinion, and he notes that poor teamwork would only be detrimental, telling the others to get help from the Mafia members if they need it.

Chap 95 - Kurapika stopping Zenji's attack on Light

Kurapika stopping Zenji's attack on Light

Zenji tells the group that they will be escorted inside the building since only a few people are aware that they will be there. A Mafia member offers Silva a floor plan, but he refuses it, with Zeno telling him that they will see it for themselves. Zenji approaches Light and asks him how things are going. Light replies that things are going fine, but Zenji takes the opportunity to comment on how quickly Light has risen up the ranks. He then asks about his hands and says that he heard he was rubbing them together so much that he got burns and rubbed off his fingerprints. As Zenji and his men laugh together, Light chuckles and says that jealousy is pathetic, causing Zenji to fly into a rage and punch Light several times in the face.

However, Kurapika suddenly appears behind him with a switchblade at his throat. Zenji dares him to try and stab him, and Light quickly tells Kurapika to stop as Zenji's men take their boss away from Light. As the three leave, Light tells Kurapika that many people resent his recent success because of how incompetent they are. He adds that information is the most important asset and that it's most valuable when it's about the future, declaring that he can rule the world if he possesses accurate precognition. Planning to rise to the top while making more enemies, he tells Kurapika that he expects great things from him and that he will be well rewarded.

As the two head by car to the Cemetery Building and policemen are seen checking each vehicle, Light tells Kurapika that the Mafia paid for 60% of the mayor's election campaign, explaining that since the police chief does whatever the mayor says, they can easily impose traffic restrictions to create a safe perimeter around the building. Kurapika's phone suddenly rings, and Melody urgently tells him that Neon disguised herself and ran away. Kurapika calmly tells her that he has a good idea of where she went, asking her and Basho to wait for them back at the hotel.

Chap 95 - Chrollo in his disguise

Chrollo helping Neon reach the auction

Light almost chokes on his cigar when he learns about Neon running away, but Kurapika assures him that she is heading to the auction as well, guessing that she realized he lied to her about it being canceled. After trying to call her and just getting her voicemail, Light calls someone and tells them to have every checkpoint be on the lookout for his daughter, telling them to detain a 17- to 18-year-old girl who tries to enter without a pass. As he gives a more detailed description, the policemen scan a man's pass and give him the go-ahead. With the two of them sitting in the back of the car, Neon thanks Chrollo for getting her through.

A policeman calls Light and tells him that a girl with different hair and clothes tried to pass the checkpoint without a pass five minutes ago. He adds that she was alone and mentioned her father before having the taxi turn around. Light urgently tells them to detain her if she shows up again, calling someone else and telling them to put out an A.P.B. and to print out his daughter's picture. The worried Light sits in silence, and Kurapika calmly asks if he should go looking for her, wondering if he has a map of the city as he readies his Dowsing Chain.

Chap 95 - Neon agreeing to tell Chrollo's fortune

Neon agreeing to tell Chrollo's fortune

Chrollo and Neon are seen waiting at a restaurant until the start of the auction, and the homeless man that Chrollo hired to drive the car tells him that he will wait there. Chrollo praises Neon's ability as a fortuneteller and says that he can't remember who told him about it. Neon says that many important people want to have their fortunes told, and Chrollo asks how accurate she is. Neon replies that others say she's always right, explaining that the process is automatic and her hand writes by itself. Chrollo eagerly asks if she can tell his fortune, and she tells him to write down his full name, birthday, and blood type.

After he does so, she says that "Chrollo Lucilfer" is an unusual name, also surprised to see that he is 26 years old. He replies that his friends seem to like it, causing Neon to laugh and call him odd. Once she begins to use her ability, Chrollo's eyes suddenly sharpen and become serious. Using his Dowsing Chain above a map of the city, Kurapika tells Light that Neon is already in the Cemetery Building. As the two quickly head there by car, Chrollo continues to watch Neon intently as she writes out his fortune.
