Blair Reddington (also known as The Poacher) is a target that appears in Embrace of the Serpent, a special assignment in HITMAN™ 2.

Background[]

Born to wealth and privilege, Blair Reddington is used to getting things his way. The New England Reddingtons trace their lineage all the way back to the arrival of the first colonials. With that lineage comes a certain sense of entitlement, which Blair benefited greatly from growing up. Never exposed to the harsh realities of life below the clouds, Blair was raised as someone who was simply better than everyone else.

He lived the life of the highest upper class individuals, visiting many foreign countries from an early age and getting the best education money could buy. Alas, the great tower of Reddington fell from public grace one day when it was discovered that the modern Reddington fortune had been built on debt slavery, exploitation of workers and downright corruption of foreign nationals. With his family disgraced, Blair is left to fend for himself. Suddenly a target of the world's media, Blair reconnects with some old friends from college and joins their hunting lodge in Vietnam to get away from everything. Here, he continues to indulge in his expensive habits, which forces him to start making money of his own. The lodge suggests he travels to Africa to engage in a bit of organized poaching. He quickly builds an eager network, willing to offhand all kinds of wildlife contraband and suddenly becomes a sought-after individual. His poaching efforts in Africa expand rapidly and grows from simply ivory poaching to collecting rare animals and parts of animals all over the world for wealthy clients who do more than just pay him, they open doors, once again giving him access to the highest tiers of life. Reddington works with anyone and everyone to get his quarry, despots, warmongers and drug lords. His recent trips have seen multiple instances of guides being mauled by dangerous animals and there is speculation he uses locals as possible bait for the increasingly risky ventures he finds himself on.

History[]

Reddington set off to hunt the Cloud Serpent in the jungles just outside of Santa Fortuna, Colombia. He hired Rico Delgado’s men to act as security. He also hired a chef to cook meals for him.

He has been unsuccessful in finding the Cloud Serpent, and is evidentially upset, and losing his temper. He insists on getting Shaman Taita's blessing, to help him search for the Cloud Serpent. Before he could find the Serpent he was assassinated by Agent 47, an operative for the International Contract Agency. Someone hired the agency to kill Reddington, due to his poaching, and causing extinction among animals.

Black Book[]

He carries around his so called little “Black Book” with him that has the different names of the Lodge members, bribed politicians, and other officials affiliated with The Lodge. It’s kept in the Shaman's hut.
