Overview
Lex Luthor was a billionnaire businessman and the archnemesis of Superman.
History
- Narcissist, sociopath, evil genius—there are a lot of ways to describe Lex Luthor. But I find douchebag to be the most descriptive.
Lex was a childhood prodigy from a wealthy family, which grew up in the Luthor Mansion in Metropolis with his parents; the billionaire alcoholic Lionel Luthor, the former physician Lillian Luthor, and his half-sister Lena Kieran. After his father passed away, Lex inherited the company LuthorCorp and eventually became friends with the Kryptonian hero Superman. However, Lex later became Superman's enemy due to his irrational hatred against aliens. At some point, Lex also kidnapped and interrogated the young photojournalist who took the 1st photo of Superman; Jimmy Olsen. He then hired Mercy and Otis Graves as head of the company's head of security and became partners-in-crime with Bruno Mannheim, the leader of Intergang. After killing several police officers, kidnapping his sister and turning the sun red, Lex was arrested and put on trial, until he poisoned the judge and the entire jury. So he was sent to Stryker's Island Penitentiary, where he bribed the warden and got out whenever he wanted and eventually hired Eve Tessmacher as his spy.
