Charm is a protagonist from the fan-made Happy Tree Friends spinoff, Fiction Pokémon Foes. He's a coin and gold-obsessed Meowth from the Kanto Region. He's very interested in shiny objects and collects them and returns them back to his lair full of golden treasures. He's very sassy and often rude in most occasions, but he can still be nice as he'll give away his coins to other characters, which are said to grant good-luck. However if a character wishes to have his luck-granting coins they must do a task for him which usually involves them giving him more shiny objects. He sometimes attempts to eat Splashy the Magikarp, and chases around Chatters the Rattata.
Character Biography[]
Physical Appearance[]
Charm is an average-sized anthropomorphic yellow and tan-colored Meowth. He resembles a cat, and the Maneki-neko, a mythical Japanese creature. Each side of his face is a different color, the left side is a yellow color and the right side is a tan color. There's spots on each of his cheeks in a pattern-like manner, the spot on the yellow side of his face is a tan color whilst the spot on the tan side is a yellow color. Atop his head are two dark blue triangular-shaped ears. As similar to his cheeks the inner ear colors are swapped colors when in comparison to his double-colored face. The left inner ear is a tan color and the right inner ear is of course, yellow. In between the two ears is a golden koban coin with two thin whiskers atop his head, the left being tan and the right being yellow. There's also four whiskers on his face, two on each side, the whiskers having stripes on them.
His eye pupils are thin pie-shaped eyes with the upper being blue and the lower being black. Charm, like most Pokémon characters lacks a visible nose, two fangs extend from inside his mouth. The rest of his body however is a tan color, his belly is yellow, and his shoulders, hands, legs and feet are all yellow. The length of his feet is longer compared to others'. He has a long tail which ends in a tightly curled shape similar to Chatters the Rattata's tail. He wears a yellow crown with the koban coins in the center of the crown and on the top of it. Wrapped around his neck is a red collar, hanging from which are golden koban coins similar to the one of his forehead and on the crown, he also wears red bracelets too. Sometimes, he's seen walking on all fours, this is more common when he's running or climbing up a tree.
Background[]
Charm's power/type is Normal. He's a highly coin-obsessed character who spends most of his time searching down and collecting shiny objects, especially coins. He's so obsessed with collecting every single shiny object he finds that he sometimes steals from other characters, usually without their knowledge, the next time they try to find their object that was just their minutes ago it'd already be gone. What Charm does with all of these stolen and collected treasures is hide them away in inside his treehouse. Being filled with all of his glorious treasures, he's very protective and defensive over his home and is willing to fight or attack anyone who harms or gets uncomfortably close to his treehouse. When he isn't collecting precious shiny valuables, he's spending time working at his jewelry store, which he owns himself. Charm is as expected, highly protective over his shop and always makes sure to clean and polish every single coin or shiny object within his sight. The immediate moment he takes notice upon his charm with a stain or a marking on it, he seems to slightly lose his mind as he'll quickly attempt to remove the marking in any kind of manner he thinks of, which could usually result in his death as he might go so far that he uses fire or sometimes even explosives as to remove a stain that won't clean off easily.
Charm especially dislikes Fairly the Jigglypuff as whenever he falls asleep to her beautiful singing, he always wakes up with scribbles all over his charm. He's usually seen chasing around Chatters the Rattata, who's often known to steal coins and jewelries from Charm, this is especially ironic considering Charm being a cat-like Pokémon whilst Chatters is a rat-like Pokémon. Although as Charm chases down Chatters, the two usually kill others and cause destruction along the way. He's even shown trying to eat Splashy the Magikarp. When threatened, he summons coins out of thin air and launches them at his opponents, which usually kills or severely injures them. This is him using the Payday attack, Meowth's signature move. He can also release a hypnotic wave from the charm on his forehead, hypnotizing his victims, after hypnotizing them he forces them to collect shiny objects for him.
Personality[]
Charm's depicted to be very sassy and sly, and usually quite greedy considering his obsession with coins and shiny objects. Sometimes he tricks other characters by focusing their attention on something else, and in a matter of seconds he snatches their shiny object away from them, however he isn't interested in non-shiny or round objects, and will only steal shiny valuables. It's even shown he dislikes dollars and in order for one to buy something from his jewelry store they must exchange shiny PokéCoins, which are a fictional currency in the Fiction Pokémon Foes series. Charm, despite his sassiness and occasional depicts of rudeness toward other characters, he can be nice and helpful for other characters in the series, the best example of this being whenever he shares his coins with others. His coins however are rumored to grant good luck to whomever holds or touches them. Thanks to him giving others these coins, they'll have the ability to have everything good happen to them, even meaning they'll have a lesser chance of being killed in episodes of the series. As longas the character holds onto the coin, the luck will last, but if anything happens to the coin or they become separated from it, they'll lose their luck.
He's very sneaky, and can sneak up on almost anyone without them even knowing, making him also very mischievous. Charm isn't exactly the smartest guy as he takes someone stealing from him way too seriously than he should, yet he steals from others. Whenever a character steals his valuables, he becomes almost hellbent, seeking after them as much as possible, technically stalking them. As to stop them and retrieve his shiny valuables, he usually sets up traps, whether it be the common pile of leaves over a massive burrow trap or a tripwire that activates a rope around the victim's leg, lifting them into the air upwards. He'll do all of this just to get his valuables back from someone else, despite him stealing from others all of the time. While Charm isn't at all a villain and wouldn't attempt to harm anyone, he still doesn't have many heroic traits aside from giving his luck-granting coins to other characters and occasionally helping out others in certain situations.
Powers/Skills[]
Sharp Retractable Claws[]
Being a cat-like Pokémon, this ability obviously makes since. He's weaponized with sharp claws which can retract itself, this is actually useful so Charm can comfortable manipulate objects without damaging it with his sharp claws. His claws are sharp enough to slice through flesh like a hot knife slicing through butter, it could even slice a character into pieces if he repeatedly swipes his sharp claws at them, killing them. His claws are sharp and durable enough to form a scratch marking onto trees, even rock, they also help him climb up trees easier.
Enhanced Speed[]
Alike most Pokémon characters in the series, he can run at high rates of speed. This ability, similar to his sharp retractable claws ability might also originate from him resembling a cat-like Pokémon. He can run at such high speeds that he'd almost be able to outrun an approaching vehicle like a car.
Parkour/Jumping Skills[]
As he spends most of his time up trees and other random objects, it'd make since he'd have the mastery over parkour and jumping. This ability is extremely useful, considering he can leap from a different area to another whenever danger gets too close to his previous location, he could also jump at very far distances, which is also boosted up by his enhanced speed ability. Charm always lands on his feet, which once again comes from him being a cat-like Pokémon.
Wall/Tree Climbing[]
With the use of his sharp retractable claws, he has the mastery over climbing up nearly anything, especially since his claws are strong enough to pierce wood and easily form a slash marking on them. Charm has the potential to climb up trees and other objects at high rates of speed as well, almost as if he were running directly on them.
Coin-spawning[]
This usually comes from his Payday attack, which is Meowth's signature move. Charm, presumably with some sort of mysterious psychic power forms multiple coins in the air, these coins looking identical to the one on his forehead and on his red collar. After the coins have been summoned, he launches these coins towards his opponents, which could result in their deaths or major injuries as the coins might even go straight through their bodies, leaving holes through them.
Hypnotic-inducing Coin[]
The coin on his forehead isn't just a regular coin, it can release unexplained hypnotic waves from them which could hypnotize others. These hypnotic waves seems to be Charm obviously using his Hypnosis move.
Luck-granting Coins[]
These are unique coins Charm has located on his forehead and on his collar, these are coins that grant good luck, and is also presumably why Charm rarely dies in episodes of the series, and tends to have everything go his way. He'll also give these characters to other Pokémon characters, but as stated before they must do a task for him. After another Pokémon character earns his coins, they'll also begin having good luck, and will too have a lower chance of dying in episodes.

Trivia[]
- He appears to be based on the mythical Japanese creature, Maneki-neko. Which is a cat with a coin on it's head similar to Meowth that grants it's owner good luck with coins.
- Unlike other characters in the series who have the typical Happy Tree Friends mitten hands, he always has long arms and three fingers instead.
- Due to his sassy and often mean personality, he's based on Team Rocket's Meowth from the Pokémon anime, even though he can't speak the human language.
- Despite his claws being invisible most of the times, he still has claws and can retract them when frightened, angered or in order to climb up a tree easier.
- Whenever he falls asleep to Fairly the Jigglypuff's singing, she scribbles all over his charm with a lipstick.
- He lives in a tree which is where he keeps his treasures of shiny (and stolen) items.
- In some concept art he looked way different, he was purple and had yellow eyes and took on the appearance of a jester with charms hanging down from his jester hat. It would be changed and ironically his new design makes him resemble a king due to the crown.
