Tangled[]
Long ago, a drop of sunlight falls from the sky and grows into the Sundrop, a flower with healing properties. Upon discovering it thanks to the knowledge about it thanks to an evil warlock named Zhan Tiri, whom she is a disciple of, Mother Gothel uses it to stay young for centuries, until royal soldiers from the nearby kingdom of Corona discover it, saving their pregnant and ill queen. She gives birth to a baby princess with long golden hair. Gothel discovers that the hair has the same powers as the flower, but turns brown and becomes powerless when cut. She kidnaps the girl, names her Rapunzel, and raises her in a hidden tower in the woods, using her hair to stay young.
From now on, at Rapunzel's birthday, the citizens of Corona launch sky lanterns in anticipation of her coming home every year. Rapunzel, During her life in the tower adopts a cameleon she names Pascal, gets drawn to the lights and at the day before her 18th birthday, asks Gothel to take her to the lanterns. She refuses saying that the outside world is too dangerous and Rapunzel is too weak to survive in it, despite being an adult already. Flynn Rider steals her crown from her palace, betraying his associates, the Stabbington Brothers and hides in the tower. She hides the crown without realizing that it is hers, and uses it to bargain with Flynn Rider so to get her out of the tower and watch the lanterns. Flynn almost gets captured by thugs, but Rapunzel charms them into letting them go as the royal guards arrive. Gothel returns to the tower to find the crown, teaming up with the Stabbington Brothers to find Rapunzel. Rapunzel and Flynn get trapped in a cave, where Rapunzel would heal him with her magic powers, whereas Flynn reveals that his real name is Eugene Fitzherbert. Her magic indicates a hidden exit, allowing them to escape into the woods. Gothel catches up with Rapunzel, using the crown to test Eugene's loyalty.
The following day, Maximus tracks down Eugene, planning to arrest him. Rapunzel demands a truce on her birthday, joining them in a festival in honor their lost princess. Having fulfilled her dream, she gives Eugene the crown. They almost kiss, but were spotted by the Stabbington Brothers. He walks off to apologize, and offers them the crown, but they tie him to a ship so the royal guards will arrest him and Rapunzel will think he abandoned her. They then try to capture Rapunzel, but Gothel stages a "rescue" and takes Rapunzel home. With the help of Maximus and the thugs, Eugene escapes, but Rapunzel realizes she has incorporated Corona's royal standard into her artwork all her life; finally knowing that she is the "lost princess" and that Gothel has kidnapped her and lied to her all these years. She confronts Gothel and tells her that she will never allow her to use the power of her hair again. She then tries to leave the tower, but she ends up getting shackled and gagged by Gothel. Meanwhile, Eugene escapes from prison and climbs to the tower through Rapunzel's hair, where he discovers her shackled and gagged. Gothel stabs him and takes Rapunzel to a place where she will never be found again. Rapunzel shakes off her gag and tells Gothel that she will never stop fighting her, but she will promise to be her captive forever if she lets her heal Eugene (despite Eugene's protests). Gothel agrees to the promise, but chains Eugene up instead.
However, knowing that Rapunzel would eventually die within Gothel's captivity of old age, Eugene cuts off Rapunzel's hair, with her Sundrop powers going dormant one more time, causing Gothel to rapidly age to death falling out of the tower.
Though Gothel was dead, Eugene still wasn't healed, and Rapunzel was no longer able to use her hair. She tries to sing the incantation using her cut hair, to no avail. Eugene just smiles and tells her that she was his new dream, to which Rapunzel responds that he was hers in return. Eugene seemingly dies, until the Sundrop's power from Rapunzel's tear brings Eugene back to life.
Eugene reunites Rapunzel with her biological parents, and is ultimately pardoned of his crimes as they marry in the end.
Tangled: Before Ever After[]
Rapunzel serves as the protagonist of the animated television movie. Taking place a few months after the events of Tangled, and before Tangled Ever After, Rapunzel returns to her kingdom to assume her rightful place in the royal family. Having been reunited with her parents, Rapunzel tries to adjust to life as a princess, receiving help from Pascal and her lady-in-waiting, Cassandra. She tries her best, and despite having a loving family and a supportive circle of friends, Rapunzel feels overwhelmed with the amount of responsibility that comes with being a princess. She asks her father for a change of pace in this regard, but he denies her request, fearing Rapunzel's desire to explore the world will lead to her falling into harm's way, much like she did eighteen years prior when she was kidnapped by Gothel. On top of this — and the fact that Rapunzel's bubbly way of carrying herself is looked down upon by the royal community — Eugene feels confident enough to propose to Rapunzel, and does so, much to the princess' shock and delight. However, despite her love for him, Rapunzel does not feel ready to marry, instead of wanting to figure herself out and live the life she's been longing for. Overwhelmed and anxious, she rejects Eugene's proposal and leaves the scene in a huff.
In her bedroom, Rapunzel laments her feelings of guilt to Cassandra, who believes Rapunzel could use some downtime. She offers to take Rapunzel beyond Corona's security wall — a forbidden act — and sneaks the princess out with the help of Maximus. During their outing, Cassandra takes Rapunzel to the former location of the healing flower that saved Rapunzel and her mother when the latter fell ill during her pregnancy. Mysterious thorn-like rocks have appeared in the area, and not only are they ominous, but also unbreakable. As Rapunzel examines the area further, she is struck by the magic that causes her long, golden hair to grow back. After returning to the castle, Rapunzel and Cassandra try to rid themselves of the hair, but like the rocks, it is unbreakable. Eugene arrives and discovers the truth, offering assistance in hiding it from Queen Arianna and King Frederic. Cassandra gets the idea of hiding the hair in an oversized wig, which helps well enough despite the awkwardness.
Rapunzel then joins her parents for breakfast, during which Frederic admits that his methods of protecting Rapunzel have been rather unfair, and notes that he is reconsidering his decisions, much to Rapunzel's excitement. Afterward, Arianna visits Rapunzel in the latter's bedroom, to bestow a coronation gift. She encourages Rapunzel to choose how to live her life — and eventually rule the kingdom — despite her father's stubbornness and what others may think. She gives Rapunzel a journal she once used in her younger years, with a note that reads: "Plus est en vous", which is French for "There is more to you".
Later on, Rapunzel's coronation ceremony begins, and during it, the royal family is confronted by a pirate known as Lady Caine, who seeks vengeance on King Frederic for imprisoning her father, who was a lowly thief, but was still incarcerated as a suspect in Rapunzel's kidnapping, and died in prison before he could be pardoned. Frederic and the rest of the royal guests are kidnapped, but Rapunzel refuses to stand down and reveals her golden hair. She uses it as a weapon to defeat the pirates with Eugene and Cassandra's help, saving her father. That night, despite proving her worth, Frederic feels more insecure about Rapunzel's safety than ever before. With the very reason Rapunzel was taken in the first place having returned, Frederic feels he's forced to forbid Rapunzel from ever leaving the walls of Corona without his consent, driving his daughter to tears. With her father's new law, Rapunzel feels trapped once more, similar to her imprisonment within the tower. Eugene arrives and comforts her, uplifting her spirits a bit. After he leaves, Rapunzel reads the message in the journal given to her by Arianna and becomes inspired to pursue the adventure she's always desired (such as uncovering the mystery behind her hair's return), despite the obstacles she will have to face.
Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure[]
Season 1[]
In "What the Hair?!," Nearly a week after her coronation, Rapunzel and Cassandra seek out an alchemist in their first attempt at solving the mystery as to how and why Rapunzel's 70-foot golden hair grew back. Eugene follows them, but things don't go quite as planned; they find Varian, a 14-year-old alchemist who agrees to help uncover the mystery of Rapunzel's hair. However, Varian had built some underground machines which run out of control and destroy the village. Luckily, no one is hurt and the test shows some important facts about Rapunzel's hair; it's completely indestructible and doesn't have any healing powers any more, but now can completely cover somebody and protect them. As they leave, Rapunzel begins telling Eugene about the events of the night when her hair grew back (which Eugene promises to keep secret) and the black rocks slowly start to grow back and multiply.
In "Rapunzel's Enemy," Rapunzel tries to win the favor of Monty, a kindly old man who booed her after she had unveiled the new seal for the 500th Gopher Grab. All attempts to make him like her fail, so Rapunzel resorts to disguising herself. At first things go well between the two of them, but the Gopher Grab starts before he can reveal why he doesn't like the princess. Unfortunately, the Gopher Grab gets out of control when the gopher goes berserk due to Eugene feeding it the wrong berries, so the two venture to a river. Monty tries to grab it from some rocks, but falls into the water. With no choice, Rapunzel drops her disguise and rescues him from a waterfall. Despite this, he explains that his naysaying is because of the new seal, as well as a disregard to tradition. He softens up by revealing the gopher he snatched up, which made him the champion of the festival as he dreamed of being, but is still sour at the princess for lying to him. Rapunzel finally accepts that not everybody has to like everyone, and that she doesn't like him either, and the two part as not-friends.
In "Great Expotations," Rapunzel takes attends a science exposition and even competes by inventing a Megadry, a giant fan. She also makes Varian's promise to keep her hair's magic a secret when he tells them that the black rocks physically respond to her and they were growing in the village of Old Corona.
In "Queen for a Day," Rapunzel takes over the kingdom while her parents go away for their anniversary. A blizzard strikes Corona, keeping everyone inside their houses, and an accident in the mountains traps Frederic and Arianna; Rapunzel sends Eugene and the other thugs to rescue them. Xavier reveals that the blizzard was a curse sent by Zhan Tiri, an evil monster who attempted to destroy Corona but was defeated and imprisoned in another realm by his enemy, alchemist Lord Demanitus, who used a device to redirect the blizzard. The blizzard was set to strike when Corona was at its weakest and now it qualifies with Rapunzel struggling to be queen. Meanwhile, the black rocks keep spreading in Old Corona and begin to approach the castle; Varian and his father Quirin go to talk to King Frederic. When Quirin says nothing about the rocks, Varian talks to Rapunzel who promises to help. Varian starts testing the mystical rocks, but his father forbids him, refusing to tell him anything. One of Varian's experiments result in the rocks trapping Quirin; Varian rushes to ask for Rapunzel's help, but Rapunzel tells him that she can't help him just then, leaving Varian feeling betrayed. Rapunzel orders the evacuation of the island, but then remembers about a legend told earlier by Xavier about an underground machine with the power to change the way of the blizzard. After all these disasters, Rapunzel is unsure if she wants to be queen, while Varian swears revenge.
In "Painter's Block" Traumatized after the previous events, Rapunzel is feeling out of sorts, even having trouble painting again, and starts taking a class with a mysterious new art instructor. The other members of the class disappear one by one to a mysterious location by the sea, apparently painting an old, withered tree. The instructor is revealed to actually be an old witch who served Zhan Tiri (the monster who released the blizzard), released after the use of the weather machine and wishing to release her master as well, having hypnotized Rapunzel into doing her bidding. Eugene and Cassandra go to rescue Rapunzel, but after they are captured, Rapunzel must finish the painting and release Zhan Tiri in order to rescue them. Now understanding that "difficult decisions are what make us who we are", Rapunzel breaks out of the witch's spell and destroys the painting, trapping Zhan Tiri and the witch forever, and saving Eugene and Cassandra. Rapunzel recovers her positive attitude.
In "The Quest for Varian", Rapunzel reassumes her mission to uncover the truth behind the black rocks, and discovers along the way that her father had not only been aware of their threat, but had made it his mission to keep Rapunzel and Corona's population from investigating them. Rapunzel repeatedly pursues her father for answers but receives none.
In "The Alchemist Returns," Rapunzel is manipulated by Varian into giving him access to the Sundrop, whereupon she finds that Varian's real intention is not to help Corona but to use the flower to save his father. She is shocked by his betrayal and at the end of the episode she tells her worries to Eugene; meanwhile, Varian discovers that the Sundrop is no longer in the flower but it is now Rapunzel herself.
In "Secret of the Sun Drop," Raps is celebrating her 19th birthday when Corona is beset by an automaton attack from Varian, which causes Frederic to lock Rapunzel in her room to keep her safe from further danger. Eugene and Cassandra help break her out to go after Varian, but the alchemist uses his pet raccoon, mutated into a wild beast, to assault the kingdom, incapacitating many of the Royal Guards and using the chaos to kidnap Arianna, whom he uses as bait to lure Rapunzel to Old Corona. When Rapunzel comforted him and told him this is not his fault, Frederic replies that it "is" his fault. Frederic revealed his final secret about what happened on the night Rapunzel was born. He had been warned by Quirin that taking the Sundrop Flower would unleash darkness upon the kingdom with deadly consequences. Desperate to save his wife and unborn child, he chose not to heed the warning and thus used the flower. Frederic revealed he knew about the black rocks the whole time and knew they were connected to Rapunzel. Unable to handle losing her again, he kept a constant vigil on her. At first, he refused to believe they were the result of his actions, but when he could no longer deny it, he chose to ignore them and hoped everyone else would. These actions were not of a king, but a father. Led by Cassandra, Eugene, Rapunzel, and Frederic, the Royal Guards lay siege to Varian's house, but he uses automatons to keep them at bay. Varian attempts to use Rapunzel's hair to free his father, but it is of no use. Angry and with nothing left to lose, he uses a giant automaton to attack, threatening to kill Cassandra and Arianna. Suddenly, the black rocks appear on the battlefield and trap Rapunzel. However, she uses her connection to them to defeat Varian, who is arrested for his crimes and vows vengeance. Rapunzel notices that the rocks have blown a hole in the border wall and are now pointing away from Corona and towards an unknown destination beyond the border wall, a path which she is encouraged by her Dad to follow. In a post-credits scene, a mysterious warrior arrives and uses a special sword to slice through the seemingly impenetrable black rocks.
Season 2[]
In "Beyond the Corona Walls," Rapunzel sets off with her friends in a customized caravan to follow the path left by the rocks. During the trip, Eugene tries to propose to Rapunzel again, but the princess declines since she is still unsure about marriage. After a situation involving his old and Lance's old boss Baron who tried to hook him up with his daughter Stalyan who they come across in the city of Vardaros,Rapunzel comes to realize just how much she truly loves Eugene. The princess tries to propose, but Eugene stops her midway, instead of wanting Rapunzel to focus on her newfound freedom. During the same episode, Rapunzel meets a peculiar woman named Adira, who had been studying the rocks and gives her the 2nd piece of a scroll that was found by Quirin. However, Rapunzel notices everyone is more interested in Cassandra's ideas and attempts a reconciliation, but the competitiveness between them further escalates and Rapunzel prepares the final event, featuring both dangers and thrills. Eugene tries to help Rapunzel and Cassandra mend their friendship and handcuffs them together. Meanwhile, Lance and Hook Foot are in charge of finding a gopher for the final event, but bring back a dangerous Sneezeweasel instead that quickly begins to cause harm and disarray. By the end of the festival, Rapunzel and the group leave Vardaros and continue on their journey.

The group eventually reach the Spire's vault, but again encounter the Kurlock and discover Calliope is not the real Keeper of the Spire. They also learn about the sundrop has a cosmic counterpart called the Moonstone and find the reverse incantation, which turns Rapunzel's hair and eyes black and begins to suck the life out of everything around her, including her friends. Rapunzel later uses this power to defeat Hector, a villainous warrior attempting to prevent the group from entering the Dark Kingdom. He leads them to the maze that he hid the last piece of the scroll in. Guiding them through the maze, they obtain the last piece, which united the four into one singular map. As they are about to leave, they are attacked by a stone monster. Rapunzel and Eugene manage to defeat it. Vigor, in return, gives Eugene the jewel from his turban. That night, Eugene discovers the jewel is actually a locket. Upon opening it, he discovers a warning from Demanitus, saying that one member of their group will ultimately betray Rapunzel once they reach the Dark Kingdom. As Eugene scans the group, his eyes fall on Cassandra who flashes a sinister smile as she looks at Rapunzel, which shocks him. Ultimately, Rapunzel manages to get into the chamber where the Moonstone resides, but just as she is about to touch it, Cassandra suddenly snatches it for herself and merges with it.
Season 3[]
Continuing on in "Rapunzel's Return" Rapunzel learns that (During the events of "Rapunzeltopia") Cassandra discovers that she is the biological daughter of Mother Gothel, who abandoned her on the night she kidnapped infant Rapunzel. Enraged that Rapunzel has been (unknowingly) overshadowing her for the entirety of her life, and that she will always be unfairly overlooked, this lead to Cassandra holding a grudge against Rapunzel for the remainder of the journey, angered at always being second-best to her, and ultimately grabbing the Moonstone to prevent Rapunzel's destiny from coming into this fruition. Despite this shocking information, Rapunzel tries to reason with her, unfortunately her former friend refuses to listen and runs away, cutting down the bridge she made out of black rocks to leave the princess stranded at the Dark Kingdom. Even though Rapunzel is heartbroken by the betrayal, she acts surprisingly cheerful. Just then, Ulf arrived in a hot air balloon and, with Shorty translating for him, told Rapunzel and the others that Corona was in trouble. They took the hot air balloon back home. Rapunzel was very happy to be home, but soon realized that the Separatists of Saporia, with the help of Varian, erased her parents' memories and took over Corona. When they escaped capture from them, they hid in Xavier's blacksmith shop, where some of Corona's citizens were waiting for her. Xavier explained what happened while she was away and that the Captain of the guards and some soldiers started a search party to find her. Rapunzel, still hurt by Cassandra's betrayal, decided to take back the kingdom on her own. But the plan failed when she got captured while she was in Cassandra's room and cried over her betrayal. She tried to talk Varian out of his plan of wiping everyone else's memories and soon learned that he only wanted to do so because he truly felt bad for his actions. When the Separatists decided to use Varian's chemicals to destroy Corona, Varian turned against them and helped Rapunzel defeat them. After saving Corona, she used the Reverse Incantation to free Quirin. She was happy to see the father and son reunited and that Varian became her friend again. Soon afterward, Rapunzel took over as acting queen of Corona until her parents have fully restored their memories. She also opened up about her feelings about Cassandra's betrayal to Eugene.
Thanks to her journey to the Dark Kingdom, Rapunzel had gained the wisdom and experience she needs to lead her people and help them get through the hard times, along which were werewolf attacks, arguments while repairing the kingdom, and returning stolen goods. Meanwhile, Rapunzel held on to a belief that Cassandra is still good deep down and would never give up on her, no matter what anyone said. When Corona got plagued by fear-induced red rocks, she saw a vision of Cassandra taking over the kingdom. But what really scared her was losing Cassandra as a friend. She and Varian worked together to encase the rocks' roots in amber and saved the kingdom. In the process though, when she touched one of the rocks, she could sense Cassandra and that she was just as scared as she was. This made Rapunzel more than sure that Cass could still be saved.
Then, after helping Pascal save his dragon friend and finding the lost Captain, she prepared a real birthday celebration for Eugene and was planning to propose to him. But when the party just got started, Cassandra arrived and demanded the Demanitus scroll. Rapunzel came to Varian in the Demanitus chamber to see that he had translated and memorized almost the entire scroll. But then Cassandra came and fought with her before taking the scroll and Varian, as he was the only person who knew the translation. Rapunzel and her friends discussed on what to do until they saw a new black tower appear, made from the black rocks by Cassandra when she learned the third incantation. They went to the tower and after some failed attempts to get inside, an entrance appeared, and they entered. Rapunzel and Eugene went up the tower and found Varian, who had discovered the fourth incantation but was having trouble reading it as it needed sunlight to be seen. She handed the engagement ring to Eugene and went to look for Cass while Eugene help Varian. She found her and tried to reason with her again, but Cass wouldn't listen. When Rapunzel refused to fight her, Cassandra brought Eugene and Varian inside and threatened Eugene's life. Varian showed the fourth incantation to Rapunzel, and she used it to stop Cassandra. But even though she was victorious, she knew it wasn't over yet.
Later, she and Eugene got a message from Calliope, telling her she was in danger, and raced to the spire to help her. It was there when she met the Enchanted Girl, who later revealed herself to be Zhan Tiri. She tried to stop them from taking the Mind Trap, but she couldn't bring herself to let Calliope get trapped in a magic lamp in the process. Then, when she heard about Gothel's ghost haunting her old cottage, she went there to investigate, only to find out that the ghost was a fake. But then Cassandra arrived and fought with her until they both got trapped in an underground mine. She convinced Cass to work with her to find a way out. While looking, they found a room with magic mirrors that showed projections of Gothel talking about herself. Rapunzel explained to Cass that the only good thing Gothel had ever done was bringing them together. But unbeknownst to them, Zhan Tiri slipped one of the mirrors into Rapunzel's bag and when Cassandra found it, it showed a scene of Gothel giving little Cass a music box in apparently a loving manner. This made Cassandra angry, thinking that Rapunzel knew about it and tried to hide it from her, and as Rapunzel tried to explain that she didn't, Cass left her to die in the mine. But fortunately, Pascal saved Rapunzel. Rapunzel promised him that she still would not give up on Cass.
She then supervises the preparations of defending Corona from Cassandra or any other threats. During which, she helped Eugene catch a man who was posing as Flynn Rider, Eugene's former alter ego, and arrested the Baron, who was seeking revenge for what happened to him in "Beyond Corona Walls". Then she learned that Eugene and Varian had created "Project Obsidian" to encase Cassandra in amber. She disapproved of it at first, but then agreed that they could only use it as the last resort. Later, her father announces that the Goodwill festival will be cancelled due to Cassandra's possible threats. But Rapunzel offered to see if anyone would still want to continue the festival and one person did speak up, Faith (who was actually Cassandra in disguise in an attempt to make up with Rapunzel after realizing the truth about Zhan Tiri). The festival proceeded and throughout the day, Rapunzel and "Faith" spend time together to make sure it goes well. But when the disguised Cassandra tried to talk to Rapunzel alone, Zhan Tiri pulled the cloak off her, exposing her. While everybody panicked and tried to take Cassandra down, Rapunzel told her that it's not too late to make things right. But as Cassandra consider her words, Zhan Tiri made Varian's Obsidian launched at her. Believing that Rapunzel sees her as a threat like everybody else, she breaks free and declared herself a bad guy. Then she knocked the princess out with a potion. When Rapunzel woke up, she learned that Cass had taken over Corona, just as she had feared.
In "Plus Est En Vous", Rapunzel looks back to where she first touched the Black Rocks. Queen Arianna comforts her, and they return to their new headquarters in the Snuggly Duckling to inspire the people of the Corona to fight back. Thanks to Varian, Rapunzel learned that Demanitus sealed Zhan Tiri away with a device whose blueprints were locked away in his tomb. On their way up, she gives Eugene the name G-bug which disgusts him. Rapunzel looks around to see the tomb was inhabited by monkeys and concludes that this was where Demanitus found Vigor. She and Eugene spots the journal which contained the plans, only for it to be snatched away by the monkeys. To make matters worse, Lance toys with the ray Demanitus used to switch his mind with Vigor's and uses it on everyone, Rapunzel included. Despite her orders for everyone to leave it alone, they fought over it for hours until everyone was restored to their normal bodies and given Varian the journal.
Varian admits that he can build the machine, it has to be near Zhan Tiri to seal her away. As a result, Rapunzel and friends storm the castle and made their way to the throne room. While Varian puts the machine together, Rapunzel searches for Cassandra but finds Zhan Tiri instead. She tries to force her to give her the Sundrop, but she refuses. Rapunzel retreats and finds herself in Cassandra's old room. Once more, she bursts into tears and continues her search.
When Rapunzel notices a burning candles blow out, she knows that Cassandra is nearby. She tries to reason with her, but Cassandra refuses to remind her about how Varian encased her in amber the last time they tried to sort things out. Rapunzel orders Cassandra to hand her the Moonstone, Cassandra in turn orders her to hand her the Sundrop; both refuse and begin to fight. Rapunzel breaks through Cassandra's black rocks, and they fight throughout the castle. She grabs Cassandra with her hair, and she reminds her that she was the one who educated her in combat.
Cassandra covers Rapunzel's hair in the black rocks and takes her to her room, so everyone can see Cassandra grab the Sundrop from her. Rapunzel asks what will she do after she gets the Sundrop and who or what will be left for her. Cassandra says that she doesn't need anyone and encases Rapunzel in the black rocks entirely. Rapunzel uses the Sundrop to break free, destroys her sword, and ties her up in her hair. The eclipse takes full effect and Rapunzel weakens, allowing Cassandra to overpower Rapunzel and telekinetically remove the Sundrop from her, causing Rapunzel's hair to turn brown again and lose its magical capabilities. Just then, Zhan Tiri jumps onto Cassandra and snatches the Moonstone from her, causing Cassandra to lose her powers as well. Zhan Tiri fuses both the Sundrop and the Moonstone into her wrists and transforms into her true form of a giant demon. She taunts and demoralizes Rapunzel and Cassandra, encages them both in Yellow Rocks, and sets off to destroy Corona.
While imprisoned, Cassandra breaks down in tears, feeling greatly and genuinely remorseful for her heinous actions against Rapunzel, and apologizes to the princess, admitting that she had let her rage cloud her mind and prevented her from seeing what she really needed. Rapunzel reminds Cassandra how they became friends in the first place, and the two women reconcile. While searching for a way to break out from their Yellow Rock prison, Rapunzel looks through her journal and comes across a message from her mother—"Plus Est En Vous"—which she relays to Cassandra. These words instill a new confidence in Cassandra, who gives Rapunzel a broken piece of the Moonstone from their earlier fight, which grants enough energy to Rapunzel's hair to break them out of their prison. Rapunzel then goes to confront Zhan Tiri, but is quickly outmatched. Just as Zhan Tiri is about to finish off Rapunzel, Cassandra knocks out the demon in the head with a frying pan, having come to assist Rapunzel again to atone for her past atrocities and redeem herself. Rapunzel and Cassandra try to merge the Sundrop and the Moonstone in the unconscious demon's wrists, but Zhan Tiri recovers and breaks herself free, prompting the two girls to come up with a new strategy. They use Rapunzel's hair to lasso Zhan Tiri's arms and pull them apart, increasing the potential energy in her arms. Cassandra then tosses a Yellow Rock shard over to Rapunzel, who uses it to cut her hair, as Eugene had done years ago. Rapunzel releases her severed hair to force Zhan Tiri to unwittingly slam the Sundrop and the Moonstone in her wrists. The collision of the two opals produces an explosion that obliterates the wicked demon into nothingness and also makes the Black Rocks disintegrate as the eclipse ends. Just as Rapunzel is ready to celebrate her victory over Zhan Tiri, she finds Cassandra lying on the ground, seemingly having perished in the explosion. Not wanting to lose her fully-redeemed friend, Rapunzel grabs onto the merged Sundrop-Moonstone opal and chants the Healing Incantation one last time, which revives Cassandra and everyone else who has been weakened by the demon, before sending it back into the cosmos. With peace restored to Corona, Eugene, Rapunzel, and Cassandra share a group hug.
Later, Cassandra decides to leave Corona to find her own destiny. She and Rapunzel share a heartfelt hug as they bid each other farewell and acknowledge themselves as best friends once more. As the entire kingdom celebrates happily ever after following Cassandra's departure, Rapunzel finally embraces her royal destiny, becoming the queen she was destined to become.
Later that evening, Eugene and Rapunzel are out on their boat where they first fell in love. Eugene mentions a promise he made to Rapunzel in Tangled: Before Ever After, which Rapunzel remembers. Having kept his promise to be patient with Rapunzel for as long as she needed and believing that they are both truly ready after everything they went through, Eugene surprises Rapunzel with a new engagement ring and proposes to her one more time, to which Rapunzel ecstatically accepts. The newly-engaged couple profess their love for one another and share a passionate kiss.

~ Rapunzel in Ralph Breaks the Internet |
Rapunzel serves as a netizen and Cast Member of the Oh My Disney website alongside her fellow Disney Princesses and honorary members Anna and Elsa in the Wreck-It Ralph sequel, similar to her real life face character counterpart at the Disney Parks and Resorts. During when the girls are in their private break room in between shifts, they are startled by the appearance of Vanellope von Schweetz glitching into their room to escape First Order Stormtroopers attempting to apprehend her for illegal pop-up advertising on the site. Believing Vanellope to either be an agent sent by one of their respective Disney Villains to attack them, or a user's avatar that had committed the cardinal violation of trespassing in a "Cast Members Only" restricted area without permission, similar to a Guest being in the backstage area of the parks without VIP access or special authorization to be there, the girls immediately move to subdue Vanellope and turn her over to the proper authorities, with Rapunzel arming herself with her trademark frying pan. Vanellope tries to calm them down with explaining that she's a princess too, but the girls, though willing to lower their guard somewhat and not be as angry or hostile as before, are still wary of if Vanellope is telling them the truth. To prove Vanellope is not lying to them, they start grilling her on various questions from their respective films, with Rapunzel starting things off with asking Vanellope if she has magic hair, then later asking Vanellope, alongside Belle, if she's been kidnapped or enslaved, both of which Vanellope denies. Rapunzel then asks the big question to Vanellope about if she has to rely on some big strong man coming to save her when she's in trouble, and when Vanellope replies "yes" to that, the girls are finally convinced that Vanellope is a princess and stand down, welcoming her into their group. After taking notice of her "gown", the girls are inspired to have causal outfits of their own, and with help from Jaq and Gus, they soon are able to wear something a little more comfortable while on break from their duties on the site.
After they explain to Vanellope about some of their trademark parts of their personalities in their "I Want" song and other details that inspire them to pursue their dreams and see them come true, the girls are interrupted when C-3PO enters to let them know that they are back on duty in a few minutes for another quiz session before they can be on break again. As a result, Vanellope takes her leave from them, but the girls are grateful for the time they had been able to spend bonding with Vanellope and wish her good luck with finding her dreams.
Rapunzel and the other girls are later forced to evacuate Oh My Disney after it suffers a Denial-of-Service attack from the Arthur virus releasing hundreds of viral clones of Ralph across the Internet due to his insecurities of letting Vanellope go and not having her in his life anymore. Once Ralph is able to resolve his insecurities, the viral clones vanish, but Ralph is in danger of plummeting to his doom. Seeing him in trouble, the girls immediately move to help him, with Rapunzel lending her magic hair to Aurora to turn into ropes to help save Ralph. After he is safely rescued by the girls, he has a chance to meet and befriend them himself, as Elsa assures him that "any friend of Vanellope is a friend of ours".

~ Rapunzel before she whacks Kaa with her frying pan. |
In this animated short to help celebrate The Walt Disney Company's Centennial Anniversary as part of the Disney 100 Years Of Wonder, Rapunzel is among the 500+ Disney animated characters gathering outside The Walt Disney Animation Studios for a group photo. As everyone is heading out to get ready, Mickey notices Clarabelle Cow being hypnotized by Kaa. Rapunzel assures Mickey she's got this as she whacks Kaa with her frying pan off-camera, knocking him out and freeing Clarabelle from her trance.
