Mach Rider is the titular main protagonist of the Mach Rider video game made by Nintendo for the NES in 1985. Last appearing the same year he was introduced, Mach Rider's spiritual successor is considered to be Captain Falcon and the F-Zero franchise, because of the futuristic racing genre and similar character appearance.
Appearance[]
Mach Rider is a human male. He wears a blue motorcycle outfit with visible torso muscles, red pauldrons, red boots, red gloves, a red belt and a white motorcycle helmet with red stripes. In the arcade version of the game, Mach Rider is revealed to be female, with brown hair and tan skin. However, this arcade game isn't considered the canon version of the game, as Nintendo refers to Mach Rider as male.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mach Rider wears a blue-gray race suit with silver pauldrons and a black helmet.
Personality[]
Mach Rider doesn't speak within the Mach Rider series. Following the invasion of his hometown in the year 2112, Mach Rider set out searching for a new home. Throughout the game, Mach Rider defeats many Quadrunners, alien vehicles, which he destroys using his machine guns. His work saving Earth shows that Mach Rider is heroic and optimistic.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mach Rider appears as a trophy. His trophy description is as follows: "After the destruction of his home town, Mach Rider jumped onto his machine-gun-equipped combat motorcycle and set off in search of a new home, destroying all the Quadrunners who got in his way. His motorcycle had four gears and endless ammunition. When hit, Mach Rider would break into fragments and then rejoin together."
His appearance changes almost completely in Melee. He sports a blue-gray motorcycle suit, silver pauldrons and a black motorcycle helmet.
