~ Ifrit's awakening after thirteen years. |
Ifrit is a major character in the 2023 action role-playing high fantasy video game, Final Fantasy XVI. He is a mysterious Eikon that was awakened a couple of years ago, where he fought against Phoenix and killed him, along with his Dominant, Joshua Rosfield. His actions served as the catalyst that would drive Clive Rosfield into seeking revenge on Ifrit and avenge his brother's death.
Unknown to Clive, however, Ifrit had been awakened as Clive's Eikon and thus was his Dominant, making him responsible for Joshua's death.
Appearance[]
Ifrit appears as a giant, horned beast covered in flames, with a demonic presence to him. His body appears to be made of pure molten lava, as his skin is darkened and cracked open, revealing lava underneath it. Whenever he uses his attacks, flames burst out of his body, revealing more of his fiery self-hidden underneath his molten skin.
Personality[]
Ifrit is a destructive Eikon that appears to be driven purely by his own instincts. He serves as the very manifestation of Clive's guilt and wrath, due to his actions of causing Joshua's death. Likewise, he appears whenever Clive gives into his very hatred, transforming him into a berserk monster, unrestrained.
However, despite his wrathful nature, Ifrit is neither good nor evil. Instead, he is purely an amoral, mindless beast that is driven by his own instincts. Because of this, when Clive learns to accept the truth of his actions and his role as the Dominant of Fire, Ifrit becomes a more tamed, subdued being that grants Clive control of his powers. Even so, however, Ifrit tends to be unpredictable at times, doing as he pleases. This behavior of his makes him stand out more amongst the other Eikons, who are more subservient to their Dominants.
