Hanae Ashiya is the main character of The Morose Mononokean anime and manga series.
He is voiced by Yūki Kaji and Chinami Hashimoto as a child in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Aaron Dismuke and Madeleine Morris as a child in the English version of the anime.

History[]
He is a high school student who was possessed by a fuzzy yokai as he is starting his first day of high school which made him extremely ill. He enlists the help of Abeno to exorcise the yokai but ends up working for Abeno to pay off his debt.
He seems to hold a mysterious power that has yet to be revealed in the manga series.
