Fred is the tritagonist of the BBC British sitcom, Off The Hook, in which he is portrayed by James Buckley.

Fred is seen as depressed, always wondering in the point of life is and is sometimes seem contemplating whether or not the human race would be better as dead. He makes his beliefs on life clear to others. He acts dull regularly and does not care about most things. Fitting his opinions, Fred usually stands or sits still for long periods of time, and speaks in a monotone voice at all times. Fred is also very knowledgeable, being able to give advice to people. He has many different romantic relationships with women at the same time, often ending them when they question him about only having one.
