The Chief of the Wizard's Council (or, simply, the Council Chief; female Chieftainess) was the title given to the head of the medieval Wizards' Council that preceded the British Ministry of Magic in governing the British wizarding community.[1] The title of Council Chief is, thus, analogous to the modern-day Minister for Magic.
