Happy Is A State Of Mind

I was just thinking how we moved to this rental just barely over a year ago and all the blessings in our lives since we’ve lived here.  Moving here was a miracle in itself!  When we were trying to find a new place to live, it was important to keep the cost down of the rent each month.  Rob and I spent HOURS, DAYS, WEEKS looking for places in our budget.  We found a cute house in Chandler but when we told the landlord that we have 6 kids that would be living with us they turned us down.  Then we found another house not too far from us but the landlord kinda flaked out and rented it to someone else without returning our calls.  We were pretty discouraged but we couldn’t give up.  At that point we were spending every spare moment driving around and using one of those rental apps on our phone, hoping to find something that wasn’t going to cost more than our budget and location was important to us too.  We finally prayed, telling Heavenly Father that we would go wherever HE wanted us to live.  Of course we had prayed about it all along but when we changed our words from “this is what it has to be” to “thy will be done”, that’s when we found the house.

We were driving around and felt prompted to go to a certain neighborhood.  As we were looking for a certain address, there were two houses across the street from each other.  one had weeds in the yard and the other didn’t.  Rob called the phone number for the one with the nicer looking yard.  It was not for rent but after the landlord talked to rob for a few minutes he said that his wife wanted to try renting it out one more time so he’d meet with us and see how we all felt.  (ding, ding, ding!  Miracle!)  the rest is history 😉
