Paper Rose birthday

Today, I have a card to share using embossing and watercolouring with Paper Rose products.

I used the  Milly's Bouquet set, white embossed onto watercolour paper. I then coloured it with zig markers and water. I cut part of the panel off the left side, while fussy cutting around the image, and adhered it to a white card base with a panel of green cardstock under the left side. I cut the sentiment from the same green cardstock and some gold mirror cardstock and layered it over the image, and finished with some Wink of Stella and some white gel pen faux stitching.

Blue birdie

Hello! Today, I'm sharing a sweet little birdie card using products from Picket Fence Studios

I stamped the little birdie in a pale ink, and then coloured him in Derwent pencils. I popped him on a square of cardstock with some blue ink blending, and then onto a card base that I'd stamped some flowers in various shades of blue.

Hello Beautiful release from Simon Says Stamp

There's a new release today from Simon Says Stamp! The release is called "Hello Beautiful", and the lovely people at Simon sent me the new set called "Baby Gender Reveal". I made these two cards using it:

I paired the new set up with the Waves stencil (from an earlier Simon Says Stamp release) and Distress Oxide inks and Copic markers.

I used Distress Oxides on this card, too, but I used the ink smooshing technique instead of ink blending.

Beyond the Blue challenge

There's a new challenge blog - it's called Beyond the Blue, and this week, they're challenging us to make a card using a technique using an embossing folder to add ink or paint to a panel. I used Distress Oxide inks and an old embossing folder from Cuttlebug to make this card:

Pale pastels for A Blog Named Hero

Today, I'm sharing a super soft pastel one-layer card using a stencil and a stamp from Hero Arts

I used Distress Oxide inks in Scattered Straw, Tattered Rose and Speckled egg. I finished with some clear sequins. Super quick and simple!

Pink magnolias for Paper Rose

Today, I'm sharing a card using alcohol pearl inks with dies from Paper Rose Studios

I began with a panel of yupo, to which I added some alcohol blending solution and Alcohol Pearls inks. I let that dry before adhering it to a top folding white card base. I then cut the magnolia die from white cardstock and the happy die from gold mirror cardstock. I adhered them to the card front with liquid glue, and finished with a printed sentiment over the top.

Release day at Picket Fence Studio

It's release day at Picket Fence Studios! There's new stamps and dies, but you know I have a soft spot for stencils, and I've used stencils on every card I'm sharing today!

This card uses the Centre Flower stencil, with the "you are the best" word die.

This card makes a feature of the Thank you word die, with  stencil in the background. I finished with a sentiment white embossed onto black cardstock.

This elegant card uses the Slim Line centre flower stencil, along with a sentiment from the Fancy congratulations set (a new favourite of mine, along with all of the other Fancy Sentiments sets) - it also comes with matching dies, which are a game changer! I also used one of the new Paper Glazes from last month's release - I paired it with two older paper glaze colours to get an ombre look across the card.

My mum thinks this card looks like a mask. I wasn't particularly going for that look, but if Karma could kick Covid in the teeth, that would be nice!

Happy blogiversary to me!

Today is the 10th anniversary of my blog, so happy blogiversary to me! I thought I would celebrate with a card using my favourite stamp of all time.

Yes, I know, people get upset when I use this Flower Dot Pattern stamp from Hero Arts and Basic Grey, because it is discontinued. I get it, it's a really nice stamp, and it isn't available any more. But that is not going to stop me using it any time soon. I paired it up with a heart die from Pink and Main (I used the heart on a card a week or so ago), a hello die from Ink to Paper, and a printed sentiment strip from Paper Rose Studio.

Rainbow on vellum

I had a panel of vellum sitting in my stash for years. It had  a white embossed background stamp on the front and a rainbow of Copic markers on the back. I decided I needed to break it up with some white, so I stuck it onto a piece of white cardstock then cut it into 3 pieces to make these 3 cards.

The background stamp from Hero Arts was called Looped Flower Pattern. It is discontinued, sadly, so I have linked to some other Hero Arts background stamps that would work well for this kind of look.

Gilding over a stencil for Paper Rose Studio

I made a card for Paper Rose Studio using a stencil and gilding flakes!

I ran the stencil (which already had Pixie Spray on it) and a piece of cardstock through my die cutting machine with an embossing pad to leave an impression of the stencil on the card. I left the stencil adhered to the card while I ink blended with Distress Oxide inks, and then pounced some liquid glue over the stencil. I applied some gilding flakes over the glue before removing the stencil. I finished with a die cut sentiment and a sentiment strip.

AND I made a video!
