Across the Realms is one of the favors in God of War Ragnarök.

How to unlock Across the Realms[]

  • Begin The Word of Fate main quest

Across the Realms is a side quest Favor that transpires across multiple realms. After you begin it, you'll have to find four items from various realms (one item per realm). Luckily, there are clues to help let you know you're in the right place, although two won't become available until certain story events let you go to them.

Find the Recipe book[]

  • Location: Midgard - The Eternal Campfire

Your first step will be to find the Recipe Book that begins this quest. It'll be located in The Eternal Campfire in the North-Eastern area of the Lake of Nine, close to King's Grave and the Raider Hideout. Ride uphill towards King's Grave, then at the top, make a U-Turn to the left: you should see a cliff up ahead. Approach the cliff, dismount, then leap to the top. Head forwards and you'll find a strange rainbow campfire. Close to it is a recipe book: pick it up to begin the quest. The four ingredients you need to prepare the meal are each found in a different realm: three of these you're able to access right away, however the fourth cannot be acquired until you progress the story further to certain points. In any case, all four ingredients will be marked by a large heart with the symbols for Midgard and Alfheim within it painted somewhere nearby.

Find the Nordic Gourd (Midgard)[]

  • Location: Midgard - The Eternal Campfire

The Nordic Gourd is the first ingredient you can find, and luckily it's very close to where you picked up the recipe book. From the rainbow campfire, head back East to the top of the cliff, and you should spot a yellow heart painted on the wall to your left. Head in that general direction, and you'll find the Nordic Gourd pinging yellow in the snow.

Find the Elven Cap (Alfheim)[]

  • Location: Alfheim - The Forbidden Sands

The Elven Cap is found, somewhat unsurprisingly, in Alfheim. Specifically, it's found in The Forbidden Sands, which is the North-Western part of the desert that you can unlock access to from The Barrens using a Runic Slate. We also highly recommend entering The Burrows and completing the Song of the Sands Favor, simply because that'll clear up the sandstorm and ease navigation. Either way, head for the Western-most point of The Forbidden Sands, where the giant rock arch is. If you've been to The Forbidden Sands before, this will be where one of the Nornir Chests was. Look for the red heart painted to the left of a fallen column. Slip under the column, then look to your right to see the Elven Cap pinging in the sand, between the Nornir Chest and one of its torches.

Find the Prongfruit (Svartalfheim)[]

  • Prerequisite: Complete the Forging Destiny main quest
  • Location: Svartalfheim - The Forge

This ingredient is located at The Forge in Svartalfheim. While you passed by here during The Quest for Tyr, you were unable to pick it up, and you lost access to the train after you made it to Jarnsmida Pitmines. Thus, you cannot acquire this ingredient until you complete the Forging Destiny quest, which restores train access. You can return to The Forge via the train if you return to Durlin's office and head through it and the gates, just like when you passed by during The Quest for Tyr. Once you've made it back to the top, head for the maze-like rocky area just North of the train stop. Look for the teal heart painted on the rock, then head right to a Nornir Chest. The Prongfruit is here, to the left of the Nornir Chest itself.

Find the Bantam Melon (Vanaheim)[]

  • Prerequisite: Complete the Return of the River Favor
  • Location: Vanaheim - The Sinkholes

The final ingredient you can find is located in Vanaheim, but it has several prerequisites.

  1. First, you must complete the Creatures of Prophecy main quest.
  2. Second, you need to complete the Scent of Survival Favor, unlocking the Northern Vanaheim regions of the map.
  3. Third, you have to complete the Return of the River Favor in The Jungle in Northern Vanaheim, which restores the rivers and opens up more areas to explore.

As well, you'll need to open up a gate that allows access to the South-Eastern area of The Sinkholes where the flower is. To do that, go to the Mystic Gateway for The Sinkholes Entrance and climb into the tunnel above it. You'll emerge in the right spot: after fending off the dragon, head right and use the chain to lower the gate. Once you've done this, return to the Mystic Gateway, grapple across the river, then hop in the boat and row for the circular area where the dragon first attacked. You can find a dock close to the Celestial Altar. From there, head North-East and use the chain to lower the second gate. Jump forward across the gap, then left across the river to find the Bantam Melon.

Create the Meal of Comfort[]

Once you've found all four ingredients, travel back to Midgard via Mystic Gateway (the one at King's Grave is the closest to The Eternal Campfire). Return to the rainbow campfire and interact with the pot to the left of it to create the Meal of Comfort and get your XP and Whispering Slabs. The Meal of Comfort is a Unique Resource that cannot be sold or used. By holding it, all of Kratos' stats (Strength, Defense, Runic, Vitality, Cooldown and Luck) are permanently increased by 5.
