Strange Phenomenon: Miasma is an exploration mechanic in Chenyu Vale, Liyue. Monsters affected by the miasma are stronger. Defeat the leader to follow the trail to purify the miasma with adeptal energy.
A marked monster can be found within the affected area. Defeating it will give the player an opportunity to purify the area, which may spawn another leader monster or complete the purification of the area. The player may have to defeat leader monsters multiple times. After completing the purification, the area will be cleansed as the purple tint is removed and a Chest reward may spawn.
Completing all seven miasma-affected zones will grant the Wonders of the World achievement Break the Benighting.

The more powerful the monster, the more severe the effects.
