A stinkpot was a grenade-like form of ammunition commonly used with slings and staff slings.[1][2]
Description[]
Stinkpots consisted of a ceramic clay vessel filled with a mix of noxious substances,[1][2][3] typically either burning sulfur or quicklime.[1] Upon shattering, the vessel unleashed a noxious cloud that sickened everyone within 10 to 20 feet (3 to 6.1 meters),[1][2] causing nausea, the eyes to water,[1] coughing and choking.[2] This cloud of vapor would naturally disperse.[1][2]
Notable Owners[]
- Kobolds commonly made and utilized stinkpots in their slings,[3][4] including those that inhabited the Moonsea region.[5][6]
