Gull Leap was a cliff along the northwestern edge of Waterdeep.[1]
Etymology[]
This cliff's name was derived from the significant amount of sea gulls that nested on it and from its tragic past.[1]
Geography[]
This cliff bordered both the Castle Ward and Sea Ward of Waterdeep, just outside the Trollwall.[2][3] It was located near the western end of Julthoon Street,[4][5] the western end of Westwall Street, the northern end of the Cliffride, and southeast of the Mud Flats.[2][3]
History[]
In the history of Waterdeep, this cliff was frequented by the suicidal and was a hazardous drop to stampeding cattle on more than one occasion.[1] These incidences came to an end in Year of the Crumbling Keep, 1276 DR, when a portion of Waterdeep's expanding wall was built along Gull Leap.[6]
Prior to the Year of the Tankard, 1370 DR, the Walking Statue of Waterdeep that would later be known as The Sahuagin Humbled[7] stood at rest on Gull Leap during times of peace,[1][5][8][9] facing the Trackless Sea.[9]
