Watch Fires are stationary torches that appear on fog of war maps in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. They reappear in Fire Emblem Engage, where they are called Beacons.
Overview[]
Watch Fires expand the visible range of the battlefield on fog of war maps when lit. If a unit moves adjacent to a watch fire torch and the player chooses the "Burn" command (or the "Light" command in Engage), the torch will light up and reveal a portion of the surrounding map area. Any unit may light these torches, and both allies and enemies can extinguish them.
Trivia[]
- In Fire Emblem Engage, the first fog of war map to feature Beacons (Chapter 6), is also the chapter that introduces Emblem Micaiah, one of the protagonists of Radiant Dawn. Until the release of Engage, Radiant Dawn was the only Fire Emblem title to feature Beacons in its gameplay.
