The Mouths of Babes[]
Journal[]
- A'naidjaa has enlightened you in the ways of the carpenters of the Oak Atrium. Within the lumber and other materials they work with reside the elementals, and so there is little tolerance for error and waste. Rather than worry, you have been directed outside to the Acorn Orchard, where you will meet your first...instructors.
- Your first instructors have turned out to be the younglings in the Oak Atrium's care. In a show of thanks to the Gods' Quiver for keeping Gridania safe, they have been busying themselves crafting new arrows of which they mean to make a gift. They have asked you to deliver the arrows to Quarrymill. Make whatever preparations you must before setting out.
- Wybir of the Gods' Quiver happily accepts the younglings' arrows. She would like nothing more than to loose a few at the practice butts, but it seems that her bow has recently suffered a crack and she is terrified of drawing it. Search the area for the most suitable type of wood and repair Wybir's bow for her.
- You have gathered a piece of lumber which looks like it will serve your purposes. Make the repairs and then show the bow to Wybir.
- You successfully repaired Wybir's bow and far exceeded her expectations in doing so. Head back to the Oak Atrium and report to your young instructors.
- While speaking with the younglings, a carpenter named Marcelloix appeared, apparently running late. It seems that it was he who was meant to be your true instructor all along. Nevertheless, the deed is done. Speak to A'naidjaa to receive your reward.
Hide and Seek Shenanigans[]
Journal[]
- A'naidjaa has asked you to watch after the younglings while Marcelloix attends to more pressing affairs. Head through the door at the rear of the Oak Atrium, and visit the children in their workshop.
- Marcelloix's pressing affairs continue, and you have been asked to watch over the children and make sure that they do not leave their workshop until they are called to eat. Talk to the younglings and try to keep them under control.
- Talking to the children reveals only that they are extremely bored. They decide amongst themselves to engage you in a friendly game of hide-and-seek...well beyond the confines of the workshop. Search the town for the children and see them safely back to the Oak Atrium. Perhaps A'naidjaa would have some idea of where they have gone off to...
- You find Nicoliaux, poorly attempting to hide in the Acorn Orchard. But where could the others be? Parley with Nicoliaux and coax whatever information you can from him. Perhaps Sansa knows something as well.
- The younglings have revealed that one of them is likely hiding somewhere near the Wailing Barracks. Find the sprat and end this game!
- Sure enough, stuttering Ryd was hiding at the Wailing Barracks. But the game is not over yet... Parley with Ryd to discover what he knows of the other hiding children.
- Powle has suggested that some of the other children may be hiding near the Quiver's Hold. But where...?
- You discover Elyn hiding near the Quiver's Hold. Parley with her to learn whatever she might know. Also, it seems that Nicoliaux may be privy to the hiding spot of the last remaining child—Aunillie.
- Aunillie never left the workshop—best hiding spot ever. You have successfully found all of the children and gathered them together safely. Return them all to the Oak Atrium workshop.
- The call to eat comes and the children bolt for the mess tables. It seems everything worked out in the end. Speak to A'naidjaa to receive your reward.
- Reflecting upon one of the toys made by the younglings, A'naidjaa expresses her desire to deliver such toys to the children of the other nations of Eorzea. She has asked you to take a collection of such toys south to Ul'dah, and deliver them to the children at Frondale's Phrontistery. She assures you the reward will be ample.
- You deliver the toys to Nogeloix at the Phrontistery, who is extremely grateful for the Oak Atrium's charity. Further, he entrusts you with a delivery meant for Marcelloix. Return to the Carpenters' Guild and speak to A'naidjaa about that ample reward.
- Upon returning, A'naidjaa shares with you recent rumors of a ghost which has been haunting the halls of the Oak Atrium at night. As a result, the terrified children have been unnervingly quiet and well-behaved. See that the package entrusted to you by Nogeloix is delivered to Marcelloix, whom A'naidjaa informs you is staying at the Roost.
- After some urging, V'korolon reluctantly agrees to summon Marcelloix. While working with a rare species of lumber that contains a skin irritant, it seems that the skin and features of Marcelloix's face have been hideously disfigured. The package you have brought from the Phrontistery contains the treatment to cure the ailment, and pleases Marcelloix a great deal. Return to the Oak Atrium and speak to A'naidjaa to receive your reward.
Spanning the Spectrum[]
Journal[]
- Marcelloix has informed you of an excursion into the forest he has planned for the children, and asked that you help him make the necessary preparations. First, you must visit the Acorn Orchard outside the Oak Atrium and speak to the young ones.
- The children have already learned of their trip into the forest and have decided to make fairweather fetishes to ward off the rain. Gather materials fallen around the Acorn Orchard to make your own fairweather fetishes, and then speak with the children again.
- As you and the children finish making your fairweather fetishes, Marcelloix arrives and tells you that all of the necessary permissions have been obtained to venture forth into the wood. He has asked that you cooperate with the Gods' Quiver in scouting out the path the children are to take. Visit the Quiver's Hold and speak to Nonolato.
- Nonolato informs you that you will be accompanying the archer Wybir and traveling the path the excursion will take to clear it of any lurking dangers. Travel to Quarrymill, and assist her in any way you can.
- You have arrived in Quarrymill and met with the archer Wybir. She has asked that you lend your carpentry skills by providing her with arrows as she unleashes a barrage on any foul beasts you come across.
- You have scouted the path of the younglings' excursion and cleared it of any dangerous beasts. Return to the Oak Atrium and report to A'naidjaa.
- It has been decided that you will accompany Marcelloix and the children on their excursion into the forest. Travel to the lake known as the Mirror, and meet the others on the banks.
- Marcelloix and the children arrive at the Mirror shortly after you, and seem to be enjoying themselves immensely. Speak to each of them in turn.
- A sudden rain begins to fall, and Marcelloix proposes that everyone draw a picture while waiting for it to cease. Speak to the children to see what they are drawing.
- You and the children have completed your drawings. Rouse the dozing Marcelloix and give him your artwork.
