Okay..can't this be merged with the final boss page, the next thing you know, there'll be an "uber boss" article.--N/A

"Pseudo" Final Dungeons[]
A friend on a forum brought this up - the Sky Fortress isn't really the final dungeon. It's hardly a dungeon at all, mostly you walk forward ten steps, ride the elevator and fight the final bosses. Strictly speaking it's the final dungeon yeah, but you wouldn't say Crystal World is the final dungeon of FF9, it's Memoria. Thus, I'm thinking perhaps we should say something like we do with Safer Sephiroth and Braska's Final Aeon - "Technically speaking the Bahamut is the final dungeon, but it is a very short dungeon and is little more than a path to the final sequence of bosses. Prior to the Bahamut, the party must traverse the Pharos, a 100-floor dungeon filled with powerful enemies and puzzles."

- But if our definition of the final dungeon is "the dungeon where the final boss is fought", then it is correct, right? Not "what is the game's hardest/longest dungeon". Of course they often try to make the final dungeon more epic and special, but Bahamut can't be so long because it is a point of no return, because it wouldn't make sense storyline-wise if you could leave.Keltainentoukokuu 19:37, October 29, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu
- Yes, but technically speaking our definition of final boss is "the last boss in the game." Why I mentioned Safer Sephy and BFA. Doreiku Kuroofangu 19:41, October 29, 2010 (UTC)
- First we must define what really is the Final Dungeon. If we consider it as the "final storyline challenge" or something similar, then we can completely assume that Memoria and the Pharos are final dungeons. We can also define it as the "dungeon before the point of no return", where in XII's case, it's the Pharos, as the entry on the Bahamut is not undoable, and the same applies to the Crystal World. - Henryacores^ 21:10, October 29, 2010 (UTC)
- "final storyline challenge" fits well I think. Doreiku Kuroofangu 21:21, October 29, 2010 (UTC)
- "Final Dungeon" is a popular term by fans used for the final location where the final bosses are fought. I personally believe the "is a pretty lame Final Boss, but the previous boss is sometimes considered a final boss" can be applied here in a "is only a very short dungeon, but this dungeon is lead directly from the far more epic dungeon". 88.108.114.103 21:49, October 29, 2010 (UTC)

Add Dissidia games?[]
Would they be considered as having final dungeons?Keltainentoukokuu 18:24, April 12, 2011 (UTC)
Ultimania list[]
The Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary Ultimania File 2: Scenario has a "Final Dungeon Collection". For each it lists the same as we do (including "Memoria + Crystal World" for FF9), but for FF3 it lists "Crystal Tower + World of Darkness". JBed (talk) 07:27, December 30, 2019 (UTC)
