list?[]

The ships are listed alphabetically. If we decide to keep this article the way it is, then please write the names of airships to were they belong. Also, I'm totally okay with changing from alphabetically to chronologically (by game), so if anyone wants to do that in stead, be my guest. --Hecko X 17:23, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Why did you merge all the airships in the first place? Crazyswordsman 18:11, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Seemed more logical. You go to a FFWiki, you want to know about the Airships in the Final Fantasy games, what do you type? My guess is, you're not going to type Dreadnaught, unless you've already played FFII, know that it's an airship and can actually remember the name of it. And even if you do, wouldn't it be better to have the airships in one place, in stead of having to go for a treasure hunt to learn about e.g. the FFIX airship (the Invincible), just to find out there isn't any article to begin with? So simple logic says, you want to find out about the different airships of FF, you just type "Airship" and get done with it. And in case you know the name of the airship you want to read about, you just get redirected, no harm done. So was I wrong about this? Want me to revert everything back to how it was? And just as a heads-up, if you want me to revert it back to how it was, I'm not going to re-revert everything back again to the way it is now, just in case you change you mind later on... --Hecko X 18:23, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
An overview of each airship in a List of airships article, with a link to its main article. Crazyswordsman 21:31, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Gotta admit, that is actually a pretty decent idea. I've started the article, and I'll be adding more to it soon, e.g. the Invincible, Fahrenheit, Celsius and a couple more. --Hecko X 21:43, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Ragnarok[]

What happened to the other two Ragnaroks? They are in the space like the one Squall and Rinoa found? If so, how Laguna made to return to Earth? The Propagators (aliens) took the ships and only one made to return (with Laguna, Kiros and Ward inside)? A escape pod? Ouch, my head...
Just a note: Ragnarok is a spaceship, not a airship. --20:16, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

WTF? There's only one Ragnarok last I checked. Crazyswordsman 21:31, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

In a part of the game (talking with with Laguna in CD 3) is show a animation with three Ragnaroks sending Abel to space. --21:42, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, their whereabouts aren't explained. Crazyswordsman 22:49, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Imported info[]

Hello, I have just imported most of the contents of the page Airship that was on wikipedia. Desirous that none of this great information would be lost forever when it left wikipedia, I brought it here. Hope you like it! Judgesurreal777 05:45, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Um, thanks. Just so you know, we already have a List of airships. I'll let someone make the call about this one. I'm gonna go ahead and add the "de-wikify" template, though. Mymindislost 05:54, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Actually, I am gonna go ahead and put this article back like it was. We appreciate the gesture, but we do already have that list of airships, as well as individual articles about some of them. Thanks for the sentiment. ^_^ Mymindislost 05:59, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Well, thanks, but I would appreciate if you would take a look what was brought, just in case there is anything that would be useful, us as Final Fantasy Wikiproject were a bit torn about deleting it :) Judgesurreal777 06:17, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
We'll be salvaging whatever info it had from the History then. Bluerダヨ 06:33, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Want me to revert my edits, then? Would that make it easier? Mymindislost 06:36, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
IDK, since there's no decision to let it remain or whatever. Bluerダヨ 06:38, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
I'll take a look through the dump. Understand, I'm just trying to do the right thing. Sorry if I offended... -_- Mymindislost 06:47, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

First Instance of Airship Battles[]

The page claims that it first happens in Final Fantasy 4, but I'm pretty sure that there are random encounters in certain areas of FF3 on the NES. A cannon even fires at the enemies when flying the final ship. However, I can't verify this, and wouldn't want to mess up the page... 76.64.35.12 06:46, November 2, 2009 (UTC)

Nature Edit[]

I removed this line today:

"In fact, all Cids in the main Final Fantasy series are connected to airships in some fashion."

This statement is just flat out incorrect. Final Fantasy I's airship was only connected to Cid 10-15 years after the game was originally released, Final Fantasy VI's airships had nothing to do with the Cid of that game, and Final Fantasy VIII's Ragnarok has absolutely nothing to do with Cid. Even if you accept the first, and allow for FFVIII's on the grounds that some might consider Balamb Garden to be an airship, FFVI's airship still has nothing to do with Cid. 64.121.185.83 02:57, March 5, 2012 (UTC)

What?[]

So why is the introduction (this article) separated from "List of Airship"? This is like separating the intro of Firaga from the list of Firaga's appearance within the current article and making a seperate page for the list of Firaga per game. Fenrir9 (talk) 04:49, July 31, 2014 (UTC)

This is a little longer and more detailed than Firaga's intro. The same thing's going on with Boat and List of boats.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 17:52, July 31, 2014 (UTC)
Firaga was definitely the wrong example, but the closes would be the Fire/ice/etc element article while it has a longer intro compare to abilities articles. Not nearly lengthy as this one, but close. Anyways, I just remembered, this article need to be moves since there's an dummied Airship command in FFIV. So which tag would fit? Airship (Vehicle), Airship (Transport), or Airship (Transportation). Fenrir9 (talk) 23:28, July 31, 2014 (UTC)
I'd pick (Vehicle) because (Transport) might sound like it's for airships that you the player can use as transport, whereas it is more encompassing than that. Although maybe "vehicle" carries the same connotation... (Term) is not out of the question either I suppose.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 00:19, August 1, 2014 (UTC)
