The Lilikin are a race of humanoid beings in World of Final Fantasy. They make up a significant portion of Grymoire's inhabitants.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
Lilikin for the most part are dwarfish humans with large cylindrical heads and tiny bodies, in the chibi tradition. As such, Lilikin stand no taller than knee-high to a human. Their appearances are equally as diverse as humans (Jiants) with the same variations in hair color, eye color, skin tone, etc.
Gameplay[]
Lann and Reynn can switch between Lilikin and Jiant form, which affects which monsters they can use within the stack mechanic. In the Maxima version, Hauyn is also able to switch between forms.
Creation and development[]
The Lilikin character designer is Yasuhisa Izumisawa, whose character design first appeared in Pictlogica Final Fantasy.
Etymology[]
"Lilikin" may be a portmanteau of "Lilliput" and "Munchkin", which are names of fictional diminutive races. Lilliput is one of two islands home to tiny people in Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift. Munchkin, an informal word for a child or a person of short stature, originated as a group of natives from the Land of Oz books by L. Frank Baum.
