Well, let me put it to you this way. Paine is said to be loosely based on Squall, while Lightning is made by the artists to be like a female version of Cloud. Don't believe me, look it up on the Final Fantasy XIII page. Maybe I should be a little clearer...Paine looks like Squall (but not in the EMO sense) while Lightning looks like Cloud (also not in the EMO sense, but then again maybe), or maybe you should ask Netherith himself. | |||

Penelo is not important. But I do feel empathy for her. Constantly pining after Vaan, but slowly coming to the sad realization that he will never love her. That still doesn't mean that she isn't entirely pointless.
Hm... I once loved someone who would may or may not have ever loved me (though we did have quite a lot in common)... Plus I moved to a new town, so I probably won't see her any time soon (or ever again). Oh, well...
