Battle[]
Feisty little devils.
Ignis
Ereshkigal's attacks deal physical damage. They are fast, throw projectiles, attack with their claws and by kicking high up, and lunge onto the party. Their jumping attack can be blocked and parried. They are weak to one-handed swords, shields, fire and light, and resist lightning. Ereshkigals are small enemies that appear in groups. They are distracted by the Moogle Plushie if the player wants to get them off their back for a moment.
Strategy[]
As they appear in groups, the player can throw fire elemancy at them. Ignis's Libra Elementia and Sagefire also work well, and character-swapping to him lets him attack hard and fast with fire daggers. Ignis's Enhancement boosts Noctis's damage when playing as him, also boosting his fire elemancy. Other group-hitting techs are also good to use.
When playing as Noctis, it is best not to get caught in the middle of the pack of ereshkigals, as Noctis will be continually falling over. It is best to use the defensive mode and stay on the outskirts of the pack, as even against multiple enemies Noctis can dodge the ereshkigals' physical attacks easily enough. Dodging with the Ring of the Lucii as weapon uses the Holy spell on all nearby enemies.
Staying on the defense lets the player be ready to respond to the parry prompt, which may lead to a link-strike; parrying with a greatsword as the current weapon can lead to an especially good link-strike with Ignis or Prompto. The player can also use a royal arm, as they are powerful and parrying with them doesn't cost HP.
Etymology[]
Ereshkigal was the goddess of Irkalla, the land of the dead or underworld, and the only one who could pass judgment and give laws in her kingdom.
