The Death Knight, also known as the EVILMAN or Doom Knight, is an enemy from the original Final Fantasy. Although he has less HP, this knight is the upgraded version of the Black Knight. It is recommended to defeat Death Knights quickly, as they have access to high-level Magic, such as Flare and Kill. Strong physical attacks are more than enough to defeat them, but using magic-using items, such as Mage's Staff, will also help a great deal.
Prior to Pixel Remaster, the Death Knight does not use spells very often, but they should still be defeated quickly before they have a chance to cast Flare.
