FFCCTCB Bahamut

Bahamut is one of Amidatelion's summons and a recurring boss in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers.

Battle[]

The Bahamut battle will be on a floating platform. On the ground he can attack with strong energy-charged punches, a blazing bite, and with the giant Gae Bolg spear he holds with his tail. When airborne he will start blasting the player with a Flare attack, creating a large explosion with each shot. During the first part of the battle, he will be immune to all forms of attack and the player has to steal the swords that the Goblins around the battlefield are holding to search for a weak spot to harm him (they will try to steal the swords back and if Bahamut sees the player, he will knock the sword away).

Hitting each spot will anger Bahamut, and after attacking him in all the spots, he will fly into the sky to destroy the platform with Mega Flare. After the massive explosion, the player can jump from the small floating rock where they are standing to the top of Bahamut to try and steal the dragon's Gae Bolg to slay him with it.

Etymology[]

Bahamut (Arabic بهموت Bahamūt) originated as an enormous whale in ancient pre-Islamic Arabian mythology. Upon Bahamut's back stands a bull with four thousand eyes, ears, noses, mouths, tongues and feet called Kujuta (also spelled "Kuyutha") (compared with the pair of Behemoth and Leviathan). Between each of these is a distance of a 500-year journey. On the back of Kujuta is a mountain of ruby. Atop this mountain is an angel who carries six hells, earth, and seven heavens on its shoulders.

Another version of the Arabic story is that Bahamut is indeed a dragon and he stands on a whale called Liwash.

In modern times, the game Dungeons & Dragons is responsible for reimagining Bahamut as the king of dragons, a benevolent Platinum Dragon; the opposite of the malevolent Tiamat, the five-headed Chromatic Queen of Dragons.
