Chancellor of Niflheim. Rose to power through introducing magitek to Niflheim military. His nonchalance puts others at ease, allowing him to guide them as he sees fit. Elusive, his cunning is reminiscent of political leaders of the past.

Description

Ardyn is a playable character in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia who can be recruited at the end of Act 2 Finale, Part 1 of the main storyline.

Appearance[]

Ardyn dresses in a black trench coat and pinstripe trousers, and wears a red scarf and a hooded, gray and white flower-print mantle. He wears a black fedora and sometimes wears a black winglike accessory on his left arm .

His alternate costume, Devotee's Raiment, is an updated version of his appearance in the anime Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn – Prologue and Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn flashbacks. He wears a white tunic that features a white cape and that closes itself around the waist with a white sash. Beneath, there's a beige vest with white lining, a black sweater and a white high-collared shirt. He also wears beige fingerless gloves, trousers and black boots.

• In artwork of Act 2 Finale Part 1, Noctis and Ardyn face each other in poses mirroring that of Regis and Ardyn's confrontation nearing the end of Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn, which was itself derived from a pre-development screencap involving Noctis and the white hooded figure in Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the original plan for Final Fantasy XV.
• Ardyn is partnered with Leon for his Force ability as well as partner to Vayne.
  • Ardyn partnered with Leon is forged through the game's own story; Ardyn tries to establish himself as Leon's mentor in the ways of the Dark Knight. Leon turned against his family when he came into Palamecia's service, while Ardyn turned on his kin when he had been spurned by both his brother and the Lucian crystal.
