Baba Bom, variedly described as international man of mystery, explorer of esoteric realms, and former devotee of obscure cults and movements. Spent years in India and beyond, exploring inner dimensions amidst Indic and Oriental traditions.
Background
Research on Indic religion with focus on Hinduism since 1995, and on Buddhism and broader oriental tradition since 2007. Practice and field research in India for six years. Worked with Sanskrit, Bengali (and later Pali) source texts since 2002. Active online publishing on related themes since 2000, featuring hundreds of articles.
At Wikipedia
In an earlier incarnation, with an account now long gone and buried, I worked a bunch on themes related to Hinduism both in English and in Finnish. At present I tend to limit myself to occasional corrections, as I find the recurring and tedious edit wars wasting an abundance of time and energy that could be put to a more productive use.
Writings
Some of my research and writings on applied spirituality, anthropology, cultural exploration, metaphysics, psychology, Buddhism, Hinduism and Indic history are available at Half-Satori.
Categorized
Writings are also being categorized by theme:
- Aitihya studies the history and tradition of Southern Asia and its parallel cultures.
- Dissociated Press with a focus on irreverent and ludicrous news about the obscure and the misunderstood.
- GeeVees is an archive of my extensive writings on Gaudiya Vaishnavism.
- Metadharma explores the vast domain of spiritual traditions and innovations.
In Finnish
- eXbhaktat, dedicated to former (Hare Krishna) cult members, features related materials on religion, history and psychology.
- Valaistuminen.Com features articles and translations on a broader spectrum of primarily Indic traditions.
