Sonic Rewritten is a video game for the Wii U and XBox One made by SEGA. It celebrates the 25th anniversary of the video game Sonic the Hedgehog, which was released in 1991. It is the sequel to the 2011 game, Sonic Generations.
Plot[]
Dr. Eggman sends Orbot and Cubot to get one of Sonic's hairs so he will be able to create an evil clone of him. Orbot and Cubot succeed, but the cloning machine explodes soon after the clone's creation and the clone betrays Eggman, destroying all of his robots and technology. The clone appears to be even faster than Sonic. The clone, adopting the name of "Nova," looks at Eggman's past schemes, and discovers the Time Eater, which he decides to use to rewrite Sonic's history completely.
Meanwhile, Sonic is having another birthday party, and Dr. Eggman shows up to warn Sonic about Nova. By the time he warns him, however, Nova shows up with the Time Eater. Sonic tries to help everyone run away from it, but Nova stops him, and he falls through one of the Time Holes.
Sonic wakes up in a world similar to the one in Sonic Generations, but this time finds that it is black instead of white. Modern Sonic finds Classic Sonic again, who notices that they are both slowly disappearing. Sonic goes into Green Hill Zone again, but notices that it has changed a lot. He sees Nova coming by, and Sonic remembers him. Nova tells him that, if he wants to find out how this happened, he must go deeper into his past rather than towards modern times.
