Propeller Mushroom, Propeller Box |
A Propeller Block is a block as well as an item that appears in the Super Mario series. When Mario grabs one of these, he is able to zoom into the air and hover over areas. The Propeller Block is extremely similar to the Propeller Mushroom, because these two items serve the same purpose: they allow Mario to fly. When Mario picks up a Propeller Block he can also drop it or throw it away.
A similar, but different, item known as the Propeller Box debuted in Super Mario 3D Land. It acts near-identically to Propeller Blocks, though Mario is capable of hiding within it.
Appearances[]
New Super Mario Bros. Wii: All-Star Quest[]
In New Super Mario Bros. Wii: All-Star Quest, the Propeller Mushroom does not make an appearance. As a result, the Propeller Block is a common item in the game. After Mario picks it up and throws it away when he's done with it, the Block will hover around the area for a few seconds then will zip straight into the sky.
Super Mario 3D Land II: Bowser's Ultimate Revenge[]
The Propeller Block (Propeller Box in PAL regions) reappeared in Super Mario 3D Land II: Bowser's Ultimate Revenge. By touching the touchscreen, Mario could fly, and slowly came down.
Super Mario 3D World[]
In Super Mario 3D World, Propeller Blocks appear in Lakitu's Sky Fort, Grass Temple, and Tick-Tock Tower Clock. The player has to shake the Wii remote to fly into the air, if the player shakes it when coming down they can glide slowly to the ground. If Mario or Luigi has it on when they get a Power Star or reach a Flagpole they will get a 1-Up from it.
