Petit Piranha (Petit being French for "small") is a boss in Paper Mario: The Color Thief, it is found in a cave in Plywood Woods during chapter 6, Snifit and Weep.
Appearence[]
Petit Piranha is a small version of Petey Piranha, with a smaller, chubbier body and only four petals, its legs are also shorter.
History[]
Petit Piranha is not sen in-game until the end of Chapter 6, Snifit and Weep, where Mario, Luigi and their partners have to go into Plywood Woods to stop the enviroment from being poisoned due to Petit's poisonous breath that emanates from its mouth as it snores at the bottom of its cave.
Upon being found, Luigi hammers it on the side and wakes it up, Petit immediately attacks the group and they fight back.
Once Petit Piranha is defeated, it withers away, leaving behind the green Rainbow Orb.
Battle[]
The fight against Petit Piranha is quite tough, it attacks with poison in a few different forms. All of the attacks, naturally, have a high chance of poisoning their target.
Its first attack consists of firing a cloud of purple smoke at one of the characters, if not blocked, this attack will poison them, 100%.
Another attack it has is shooting blobs of poison upwards at a party member, blocked or not, this attack will poison and paralyze them, making them unable to attack for a set amount of turns.
Petit Piranha can also spit blobs of poison into the ground, creating purple, poisonous slugs to defend itself, if they get to attack, they have 50% chance of poisoning the target, 25% if its blocked. If not destroyed immediately, the slugs can also be re-absorbed by Petit to heal the powerful Piranha Plant. Each slug has 250 HP, no attack and no defense, only the ability to poison a target.
Trivia[]
- A glitch makes it so that Petit Piranha will drop no coins if it's beaten with an item.
- Code in the game implies the there would be at least one poisonous attack item, saying that Petit is immune to "Putrid Flower", an item not seen anywhere in the game.
