Mystic Command is an upcoming 2D competitive fighting game, created and published by Darklight Studios, for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

It will be the first game to be released by Nano Studios following its brief hiatus, and is expected to be released on February 23rd, 2018. The game teases a roster of up to 20 characters, each with unique playstyles and designs, as well as 24 stages, several single-player modes, online multiplayer and downloadable content.

Set in a world where magic, science and deities all exist at the same time, the shattered spirit of the deity Nymira attaches itself to many different people and directs them to Gates of Eternity to enter the Land of the Gods to overthrow her traitorous brother Niktohal in exchange for a wish.

Gameplay[]

Similar to most fighting games such as Street Fighter or BlazBlue, the player chooses the character they would like to play as from the roster and engage their opponent (either a player or CPU) in one-on-one combat with the objective to deplete the opponent's health to 0 - having more health when the timer runs out also counts as a win. The player can attack their opponent in various way with light, medium and heavy attacks and a "unique" attack (which varies between character) which can be mixed and matched to create various combos to wrack up damage. Jumping is an option, enabling the player to attack mid-air and make even more combos - the same with crouching.

At the bottom of the screen is a Mystic Meter, which slowly fills when the player causes or receives damage. Once at 50%, the player is able to use certain special attacks called Mystic Moves which deal a lot of damage. If it is the match point, the player's Mystic Meter is 100% filled and the opponent's health is low, they can preform a flashy finishing move. Damage can be blocked through various means, including Standing Block, Crouching Guard, Aerial Guard and Instant Block. To prevent infinite combos, Mystic Command has implemented a feature where the longer a combo goes on, the less the attacks stun the opponent until it runs out to 0. Alternatively, underneath the health bar is the Crash icon, which slowly fills up as the match goes on. Once filled, the player can use it to become temporarily invincible and send the opponent across the arena. This can only be used once per match.
