Mario BasketBrawl is an upcoming installment in the Mario Basketball franchise due to be released in Spring 2013 for the 3DS. Not much else is known at this time.

Gameplay[]

Features[]

Gameplay mostly unchanged from other Mario Basketball games. The player can choose a team of three from a variety characters and then play on an assortment of basketball courts. The game is split up into 2-4 periods each lasting 1–5 minutes, depending on the player's preference. In the Championship Mode, however, each game lasts 4 periods each lasting 1 and a half minutes.

Characters[]

All characters are split up into premade teams each with their own team name and rival team. While the player can mix and match characters from different teams, the computer players will never do so. In addition, all characters will display these statistics:

• Movement: How quickly the character can move.
• Stealing: How easily the character can steal the ball from other characters.
• Passing: How accurately the character can pass the ball to their teammates.
• Shooting: How accurately the character can shoot the ball.

Using these statistics characters will be grouped into one of five categories based on their strongest stat:

• All-Around: This character character group excels at all stats relatively equally.
• Speedy: Movement
• Tricky: Stealing
• Team Player: Passing
• Offensive: Shooting

All non-DLC characters have two alternate costumes. One is unlockable and the other can be purchased with coins earned from minigames. None costumes alter stats in any way, but it does allow the player to choose three of the same character on one team.
