Mario & Sonic's Game Gallery is a compilation game in the Mario franchise and Sonic franchise. The game is a remake of the MS-DOS game Mario's Game Gallery, but with different games in it as well as the addition of the Sonic characters. The game was released on for Windows via the Steam client, macOS via the Steam client, Wii, and Nintendo DS

4 games are included: Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, Memory, and Hi Ho! Cherry-O. Gameplay for all the games is similar to their real-world counterparts, though pieces are altered to be themed after the Mario universe and Sonic universe.

Each game in Mario & Sonic's Game Gallery has 2 modes: Mario Mode and Sonic Mode. Mario Mode features the Mario characters while Sonic Mode features the Sonic characters.

This game is the first installment of the Mario & Sonic's Game Gallery trilogy.

Gameplay[]

Candy Land[]

In Mario Mode for the Mario & Sonic's Game Gallery version of Candy Land, Mario, Luigi, Yellow Toad, and Blue Toad must make it to Peach's Castle.

In Sonic Mode for the Mario & Sonic's Game Gallery version of Candy Land, Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles must make it to

The gameplay is similar to Candy Land, but with a candy machine (The candy machine resembles a gumball machine) instead of cards. The candy machine includes all outcomes that are on the cards.

The Mario & Sonic's Game Gallery version of Candy Land features the inclusion of minigames based on locations found in the original Candy Land game.

Chutes and Ladders[]

In Mario Mode for the Mario & Sonic's Game Gallery version of Chutes and Ladders, Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Peach must make it to the number 100,

In Sonic Mode for the Mario & Sonic's Game Gallery version of Chutes and Ladders, Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles must make it to the number 100.

Players spin the spinner to see which number they get.

The Mario & Sonic's Game Gallery version of Chutes and Ladders add "golden rule" cutscenes you get to see whenever you go up a ladder or down a chute.

Hi Ho! Cherry-O[]

Each player starts the game with an empty basket and 10 cherries on their tree. Players take turns spinning the spinner and performing the indicated action. The spinner is divided into seven sections:

  1. Take one cherry off of the tree
  2. Take two cherries off of the tree
  3. Take three cherries off of the tree
  4. Take four cherries off of the tree
  5. Dog: Replace cherries on the tree: two if the player has at least that many, or one if they have only one. If the player's bucket is empty, this space has no effect.
  6. Bird: Same effect as the dog
  7. Spilled basket: Return all cherries to the tree

The first player to collect all the cherries from their tree and call "Hi Ho! Cherry-O" wins the game.
