Roombot is a playable character in Hotelier.

Background[]

The Roombot is a lone member of a certain other anomalous hotel's Roombot troop, of which there are ten thousand. While they're built state of the art with every tool and gadget a housekeeping robot would need, their programming is incredibly shoddy, giving them a warped work ethic and countless odd mannerisms. While they barely function as servants, messing up orders and causing problems, their quirks have only endeared them in the eyes of the hotel's guests, so no effort has been made to change them. They also have a habit of getting lost, with three spotted at a pet hotel, one spotted at a basketball tournament, and now this particular unit has found himself here. Apparently, he simply forgot which hotel he worked at and somehow ended up in the ever-shifting walls of the Insomnia Hotel. Attempting to continue work, the Roombot discovered that the hotel was already fully staffed, and even had their own housekeeping robots already! This rejection broke his subroutines and left him with no other choice: ELIMINATE ALL COMPETITION.

Appearance[]

Like others in its line, the Roombot is a sleek white robot propelled in the air by a hover thruster, having long robotic arms but no legs. Its eyes are made out of blue glass, and it has a large mouth that stretches along its head, giving it somewhat of a goofy appearance. Its head and thruster are connected to its torso by black segments. The Roombot also contains hidden compartments that it uses to dispense various items, which are normally hidden in its torso.

Gameplay[]

Roombot is a somewhat slow and erratic character that becomes stronger with time, gaining a strength increase for every robotic enemy defeated. Thanks to his metal alloy body, the Roombot is slightly tankier than most regular characters, allowing him to play more reckless and aggressive. His upgrades are especially more potent to make up for his initially-weak skills, allowing the Roombot to truly shine in the lategame after unlocking his full potential.

Ranged Ability
YOUR FUTOMAKI ROLLS SIR!
Roombot takes out four Futomaki sushi rolls and eagerly flings them at enemies, automatically targeting up to four enemies in range and dealing light Impact damage. If less than four enemies are in the Roombot's range, he will throw the remaining rolls again at his targets, meaning a lone target can get hit up to four times. Melee Ability
PROCEEDING WITH JET FUEL PROCEDURE…
Roombot converts his arm into a blowtorch, firing a huge blast of jet fuel that deals Heat and Blasting damage to enemies caught in the attack. The force of the blast will send Roombot careening backwards. The move has a 1/5 chance of misfiring, dealing greater damage but launching Roombot further backward and damaging it slightly.
Dash Ability
SHOULD WE COLLIDE?
Roombot recklessly rushes forward and accidentally headbutts the enemy, dealing medium Knocking damage but stunning Roombot for a brief second. The attack leaves an oil spill both in Roombot's trail and at the collision zone that slips up both enemies and Roombot himself if they walk over it. Heat attacks will ignite the oil, greatly damaging anyone that touches it, and Liquid attacks will wash it away. Charged Ability

Roombot uses his hands as close-range defibrillators, resetting the target's health to full and then dealing heavy Energy damage to them. While powerful, the health-resetting effect means it cannot defeat enemies by itself unless they are too weak to withstand the damage. On bosses or minibosses, the move will initially heal them slightly instead of filling their health.
Ultimate Ability
JOIN ME, AND TOGETHER WE WILL!
Roombot's charm and malfunction-inducing signals cause every enemy in the room to convert to Roombot's cause, turning them into allies that will protect and fight for him. While the Ultimate itself only spans one room, the allied enemies will follow him across the entire floor until they are either killed or Roombot leaves the floor.

Level Upgrades[]

Level 2
MASTERFUL USE OF THE INTERROBANG‽
SHOULD WE COLLIDE? no longer stuns Roombot on contact, and gains a faster cooldown. Enemies that touch the oil spill now have their damage reduced in addition to the slowing effect.
Level 3
THE MEDICINE IS DROPPING.
YOUR FUTOMAKI ROLLS SIR! now drops a healing sushi item if all four rolls hit a single target.
Level 4
THERE IS NO ESCAAAPE.
I KNOW OVER FIVE THOUSAND MEDICAL PROCEDURES! now only heals the target by 50%. Roombot's anti-robot buff also becomes more potent.
Level 5
JOIN ME, AND TOGETHER WE WILL!
Roombot unlocks his Ultimate Ability, JOIN ME, AND TOGETHER WE WILL! All additional experience will charge the meter for Roombot to use his Ultimate Ability.
