American Girl Adventures!, also commonly abbreviated as AG Adventures or AGA, is a 2023 action-adventure game inspired by various American Girl books. It was developed by Friendly Shark Studios and Ubisoft, and published by Ubisoft. It was first released on March 5th, 2023 in the US and Canada and March 6th, 2023 worldwide, and is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC and Mac computers via Steam.

The game allows you to choose between the stories of various American Girl characters, both old and new, historical and contemporary, and play through their stories reimagined in an interactive video game format, including minigames. The game currently features the Classic stories of all of the Historical Characters, Girls of the Year, and Contemporary Characters, with more to be added soon, both as new characters are released and as older books are converted into the video game format.

Gameplay[]

Story Mode: The main selling point of the game, where you can play through a variety of Adventures, based on American Girl stories. These stories have been adapted to fit a video game format, but otherwise mostly stay true to the original books (unlike, for example, the movies, where many parts of the book have to be cut out and changed to fit the format). The gameplay is very similar to most adventure games based on other children's media, where, in between cutscenes and dialogue, the player must run around completing tasks in order to progress through the story. The Adventures also feature minigames, based on the main character's interests or on events that happen in the story. The player has to play through the first book in a character's story in order to unlock the next one (for example, Meet Samantha must be completed before unlocking Samantha Learns a Lesson).

Dollhouse: Every Adventure that is completed allows the player to unlock dolls, outfits, and accessories that are either currently or formerly available through American Girl. The player can then display these as they wish in their Dollhouse.

Minigame Mode: Any minigame that the player has successfully completed in Story Mode can be replayed again and again in Minigame Mode.
