Fallout: Rise of Gelorum is an action role-playing/first person shooter game developed by Ironwood Studios and released on April 1, 2022 (Scratch that, it was a simulation from some fanfiction obsessed nerd). It is a crossover between Hot Wheels: Acceleracers and Fallout. It is set in an alternate universe based on the opening of Speed of Silence, where Gelorum and the Racing Drones actually wins and destroys everything with all of the Accelechargers. In response to this, militaries from around the world initiate nuclear strikes to stop the Racing Drones, but 200 years later, they find out the Racing Drones had somehow managed to survive the nuclear fallout. It features an all-new protagonist and all new cast as they aim to stop Gelorum and the Racing Drones from taking over the world a second time after the nukes had dropped. Unlike the original Bethesda Fallout games, Rise of Gelorum is more linear and story-driven than the main games, which were open world sandbox-style games.
This game was made for the Dumb Dogshit IV contest.
Plot
The game opens up with Dr. Tezla and Gig looking through old documents from the Silencerz. At this time, it is currently raining outside the Acceledrome with sounds of rain and thunder. It has been some time since his drivers went through the first four Racing Realms, with one driver who had been lost in the Storm Realm, Brian “Zone” Kadeem. Gig questions why he is still assembling racing teams against the Racing Drones when it is clear that he betrayed the Silencerz and couldn't protect the old base.
While Dr. Tezla talks about his past with Gig, the screen shows flashbacks of Banjee Castillo, Dan Dresden, and Alec Wood entering the Racing Realms and failing to reach the portal in the end. When Gig brings up Kadeem and how it was the fourth driver already lost in the Racing Realms, he questions whether or not branching off the Silencerz, where he was from, was a good idea all along. During this dialogue, a flashback plays where it shows Dr. Tezla modifying Gig from his original X-88 Silencerz form, sometime prior to the events of World Race.
The two eventually end up having an argument on whether or not the team, including on whether or not both racing teams, the Teku and the Metal Maniacs would've been better off joining the Silencerz instead. During that argument however, the Wheel of Power starts to spin, followed by the alarm. Just as Dr. Tezla was going to announce “the following drivers will enter the realm”, he suddenly realizes that judging from the icon it pointed at, was actually none other than the...
The Racing Drones HQ!
Seeing this, the Racing Drones proceed to teleport out of the Wheel of Power, then followed by the RD-09, driven by Gelorum. Gelorum then activates her master plan to destroy all humans, which includes activating all of the Accelechargers to cast a golden aura over all of the Racing Drones, which causes them to destroy everything they touch with explosions as well as giving them completel immortality. Dr. Tezla and Gig then surrender with their hands up towards the Racing Drones Jet as it fires a plasma explosion toward them, killing them entirely before showing the Acceledrome exploding with the Racing Drones leaving the Acceledrome with an explosion behind them, leaving no survivors.
The next scene shows the US Military and other National Guards fighting off the Racing Drones on the battlefield, but are easily decimated via Gelorum's golden Accelecharger aura that renders everyone invincible, even with the strongest weapons and tanks. In response to this, governments initiate nuclear strikes to take down the Drones with nukes launched immediately after each other from other countries. In the meanwhile, the citizens evacuate in Vault Programs that were built to withstand the nuclear fallouts that would emerge from the Global War Against the Racing Drones, which destroys the Racing Drones HQ as well and even the land itself...
"Wake up Dr. Tezla."
After the scene where it shows a closeup of Gelorum saying the following quote, instead of showing Dr. Tezla wake up on the next scene, the screen then statics to green (in the style of a crash) and then powers off to black, followed by an evil laugh on a black screen.
The screen then shows text with news reports regarding the Racing Drones in the background;
In 2005, the deadliest weapon of mass destruction was unleashed into humanity. After the attack on the Acceledrome, the Racing Drones had managed to overpower the military forces worldwide with an unidentified super weapon which grants them immortality. To counter the Racing Drones and their secret weapon, nuclear strikes have been called upon.
The scene shows footage of nuclear strikes being dropped on Racing Drones army.
The rest of humanity then hid in the Vault Programs deployed to stop the extinction. The nukes had managed to stop them... or so they thought...
The rest of the text fades out except for the "or so they thought..." as the screen showing the Vault Program fades to black.
The Fallout logo appears after a white flash & electronic sting, followed with "RISE OF GELORUM" being typed on a computer screen.
200 Years Later...
NOTE: The Chosen One is the main protagonist, and may be considered "they/them" in the plot, as you get to choose your gender when you first start the game.
After the prologue sequence, the game then cuts to the Chosen One being called upon on a mission at a waiting room, which there are two options; the man or the woman Chosen One. "200 YEARS LATER" is displayed on screen.
The game's protagonist is The Chosen One who has sided with the Brotherhood of Steel, located on the Citadel. The Chosen One investigates a robot that is approaching the citadel's surveillance area. As he approaches it, he sees that it's almost out of battery, only for the green and black robot to turn against him. Pulling out his shotgun, he shoots the robot in the head, frying the circuits. He checks the robot, only for it to find out that it was dated in 2005, 200 years ago. The Chosen One then takes the robots' remains to the walls of the Citadel, and then they find out from their terminals that they never seen such a robot before.
However, due to the robot using up the last of its battery, it sends a distress radio signal to the other Drones. Later that day, an army of Drones arrive, where the Brotherhood soldiers fight off with power armors, and even shooting down planes with lock-on missile launchers. The Chosen One ends up being taken by the Drones to a prison, where then wakes up and realizes that the robots had taken him to their lair. Realizing that he lost all of his weapons, he has to rely on melee and whatever tools he can find to escape the area and defeat the robots. However, one large robot manages to break his arm, where he ends up inhibited but regaining his ability to hold his breath, uses his quick reflexes to bash the robot. Finding himself in a lab, where he discovers experiments that would mutate humans into robots, he then finds a machine that allows him to create a robotic arm. Using the machine and letting the AI do the work, he lets go of his broken left arm, but gains a new robotic arm that matches the robots. Finding an energy hand cannon that matches the colors/branding of the robots, he then fights his way out.
However, upon beating another large robot, the TV screen that was active turns on to reveal a human-looking woman that matches the branding of the robots. The woman states "Welcome to the Racing Drones. I am Gelorum, and I see you have been posing as our new enemy. Will you join us, or not-" but then the Chosen One punches the screen several times with his robotic arm and causes the screen to go out upon shattering the glass. The alarms then go off where more of the Drones fight off against the Chosen One. The last robot soldier, armed with two energy pistols, has a mysterious green aura, and is able to walk up the walls and even upside down. After defeating the robot, he then scavenges the robot to find whatever parts he could salvage and rebuild, only to find out that the robot was powered by a card which the icon has the same color as the aura it was using. Taking the card, and finding the exit on the ceiling, he then realizes that the Racing Drones' fortresses were built underground, which explains how they survived the nukes from 200 years ago.
Returning to the Citadel, where the defense against the Drones was successful, the people living in the Citadel are using the Drones as salvageable parts, using them to refine their Power Armors as well, and even figuring out how to disable the radio system which caused the army to arrive. Elder Stan, the leader of the Brotherhood, has the Chosen One report to his office and tell him the information. He tells them from the intel that they have gotten that the card that he is found is an Accelecharger, which grant the drones superpowers. Elder Stan says that they will do research on how to get an Accelecharger upgrade for his Drone Arm that he had acquired to replace his broken arm.
The Chosen One then explores deeper into the hideouts of the Drones, and collects more Accelechargers that were already active by the Drones, including one that could reflect his attacks toward him. Collecting more Drone parts, he eventually learns how to build his own real Drone guns, which he could reload and fire like normal guns but unlike real branded Drone weapons which are ripped from the Drones' arms, could be reusable as can take regular ammo. He then fights off a larger new Drone type called Titan Drones, which are much larger than him and are armed with weapons that are strong enough to blow up his Power Armor.
The Chosen One finds another upgrade for his Drone Arm, the Accelecharger slot, which allows him to use Accelechargers and gain its aura on himself via inserting them on his arm slot. Testing out the first Accelecharger he acquired from the Drone hideout he was taken to where he got his Drone arm, he is able to walk up walls and even upside down, and testing out the second Accelecharger he got, he can take a defensive stance and reflect shots off enemies.
Elder Stan then appoints a strike force where the Chosen One will lead, where before storming the Racing Drones' Fortress, they aim to take down as many defensive forces and stop Gelorum from making anymore invasions in the area. They, with the use of missiles, blow up several Drone bases and establish defensive forts to keep the Drones out. At one point, they discover intel that reports that the Racing Drones are using humans to make cyborgs; humans that have been fused with robot technology.
The Chosen One then tracks down the intel to lead them into another Drone Fortress, but this time with completely different designs and interiors, as the one they entered has more focus on genetic modification seeing the giant glass tubes. Upon looking through the computers, they discover data regarding Cyborg Drones, and that there are currently four successful Cyborg Drones deployed in action. Upon looking through the files, mentions are found of the four Cyborg Drones' codenames; "Kadeem", "Dr. Tezla", "National Guard Leader", and "Agent X".
Upon discovering what they describe as a Drone Butchery, they discover a coffin-shaped machine which according to the computer, was used to begin the humans' mutation to the Drones. Suddenly realizing that no Drone units have come into the laboratory at all, the Chosen One continues forward and comes across Kadeem, the first of the Cyborg Drones. Realizing that Kadeem is capable of blocking gunfire with his Titan Drone body and armor, they then decide that they have to use explosive technology. Via casting a fire on one of the drone machines, it then casts a lithium leak which causes the entire laboratory to blow up, with the Chosen One jumping outside of the laboratory.
However, Kadeem is not defeated yet, as the explosion only weakened his iron layer and slowed him down. The Chosen One then does a finishing punch to Kadeem, destroying him as his Drone-powered circuits overheat and malfunction. After defeating Kadeem, Elder Stan is radioed about the first Cyborg Drone, Kadeem. The Brotherhood of Steel military comes in to capture the Cyborg drone for analysis, and The Chosen One is reported back to the Citadel.
Upon reporting back to the Citadel, they then explain that Kadeem was one of the four Cyborg Drones created by the Racing Drones. During their meeting, a soldier reports of another Drone car that looks different from the other cars outside the gates. Upon going to outside the gates, The Chosen One finds out that the new Drone car looks similar to the Nitrium as mentioned in the Cyborg Drone files at the destroyed Butchery, and sees that it could be only one thing; Dr. Tezla, Gelorum's main target prior the 200-year fallout.
Dr. Tezla, wearing a new Drone-branded exoskeleton alongside his robot Gig, now with green Drone branding, walks calmly with an energy barrier towards the gates, and proceeds to do something suspicious; he uses his palm to energize the terminals and hack into the systems. While hacking, he lets out a voice; "You cannot get away." The Brotherhood of Steel tries to fire missiles at him and heavy cannons, but his barrier absorbs them, allowing him to continue on.
While he hacks into the Citadel's systems, another army of Drones comes in. An army of soldiers then holds off the Drones' army while the Chosen One tries to focus on Dr. Tezla. Dr. Tezla continues hacking, but the Chosen One comes up with an idea, turn off the power. Elder Stan then shuts off the power to halt Dr. Tezla's hacking into the terminal outside the Citadel's gates, which stops him entirely. However, Dr. Tezla then begins his next phase; the supercharged fight, now that he can no longer absorb electricity and energy from the terminal outside the gates.
Dr. Tezla berserks and easily decimates his enemies with ultra-fast reflexes and fists. Gig on the other hand has a new taser-weapon which executes anyone with just one shot. Seeing the battle has to turn a tide, The Chosen One throws a 20 pound brick at the Gig with the Power Armor on, which causes it to malfunction and explode. Then, another brick is thrown at Dr. Tezla the moment he charges at him, which, due to the brick's lack of conductibility, knocks him down and damages him. With him down, the Chosen One then punches Dr. Tezla several times with his Drone arm, damaging the circuits and making them overheat, as well as causing his robotic green glasses to shatter. Dr. Tezla then powers off, like how Kadeem did. However, the victory is short-lived as Dr. Tezla lets out a countdown, implying some sort of self-destruction, but a soldier sacrifices himself via grabbing him and charging for the distance. After Dr. Tezla's countdown, he lets out a huge explosion, having released all of the electricity charged.
The next day, after the explosion. Elder Stan tells them that the systems are all secured now and that everything in the Citadel is back to normal. Elder Stans warns them that according to intel, there are still two Cyborg Drones on the loose, the National Guard Leader and an entity codenamed "Agent X", and both of them have potentially different superpowers. Elder Stan then realizes that they need to find some nukes to stop the Racing Drones once and for all, seeing that they are up to no good seeing what happened 200 years ago.
The Chosen One is then sent on another mission to find the base that holds the nukes. There, he finds another Cyborg Drone in action, identified to be the "National Guard Leader" according to the intel. The National Guard Leader cyborg drone then readies itself with various weapons. Utilizing the various covers, the Chosen One and the National Guard Leader get into a gunfight. Analyzing weakpoints, the Chosen One hits the spots where the circuits are located, causing the National Guard leader to weaken. After some damage, the National Guard Leader's drone suit then detonates. However, the mechanical head that powers the National Guard Leader does not cease to function, as it pops off and then hovers to the next room, where it powers a Drone-branded military tank.
Now fighting the National Guard Leader in its second form, the military tank form, the Chosen One sees that the tank is firing heavy railgun rounds. They then come up with a plan; to reflect the tank's attacks. Utilizing the reflecting Accelecharger that they acquired while exploring through the base, they then use it to deflect the tank's railgun rounds back it, inflicting some damage. Then, firing rounds towards the damaged circuits where the railgun round hit, the tank started to catch on fire and then explodes, taking the National Guard Leader's cyborg head with it.
After destroying the third Cyborg Drone, the Chosen One then proceeds to the area where they keep the codes for the nukes. After acquiring the nukes, the Chosen One radios the Citadel to collect the nuke before the Drones could get their hands on it. Having acquired the nuke, the Brotherhood of Steel tries aiming the nuke for the Racing Drones' Fortress, only for their radar turret to destroy the nuke via an anti-missile flare which causes it to explode in the sky. Elder Stan states that the Drones must have some anti-nuke defense that they had installed on their fortress, and states that the only way to get inside their Fortress is to use up their Drone parts that they had salvaged and make a Power Armor comprised of all Drone parts, which will allow them to fool the Drones and get past the gates, as their fortress is full of defenses.
The Chosen One is then elected to go on a detour while they manufacture and research the Drone Power Armor; evidence that suggests possible life behind one of the mountains. After figuring out what to go to get through the mountain, they find themselves in none other than ancient ruins that date back to 200 years ago, with broken tracks, a broken wheel-shaped mechanism, and cobwebs everywhere in the dark alleyway. With no light in the ruined building, the Chosen One resorts to having to use their flashlight to search through the area. While searching through the ruins, they find out that the ruins are actually the Acceledrome from 200 years ago. Upon reaching the coms room, where broken glass was seen from the Drone plane's guns during Gelorum's attack with all of the Accelechargers 200 years ago.
The Chosen One then searches the areas for evidence, and eventually comes across a mysterious hard drive that has been left untouched, and then takes it. However, upon heading for the exit, they hear the sound of what could be a Drone-ized roar of an actual animal, and out of the darkness, a gargoyle-form Drone, known as the RD-B1, comes out and then battles the Chosen One, only to be defeated afterward. After leaving the Acceledrome ruins, the Chosen One reports back to Elder Stan to deliver the hard drive. Upon analyzing the hard drive, they find out that the hard drive contains a recording that dates back to 2005.
The recording, dating back to 200 years ago, the same year the fallout started, is revealed to be the surveillance recording of Gelorum and the Drones arriving into the Acceledrome via the Wheel of Power's portal, where Gelorum's car activates all of the Accelechargers and grants everyone immortality. The recording then ends where the Drone plane shoots at Dr. Tezla & Gig through the glass windows, causing the computers to explode. Elder Stan makes this discovery as concluding that they now know everything about what started it 200 years ago, and decides its time to finish this once and for all.
Before storming Gelorum's fortress with the Racing Drones disguise, Elder Stan meets with the Chosen One for the final assault, and gives him a weapon to stop Gelorum, the Circuit Killer, a magnetic grenade capable of crippling electronics and machinery. Driving a RD-01 that they had saved for the Drone Project, the Chosen One gets through the gates of the Racing Drones' fortress, where wearing his Power Armor encoded with Drone armor and branding, manages to get through the security gates to enter the HQ. Then, once getting past the gates. the Chosen One then gets his weapons ready and starts fighting the drones with a heavy minigun. The first wave of Drones are easily defeated via the use of the heavy minigun. Then, he uses the Accelechargers to help him fight the Drones, including reflecting the Drones' guns back at them and even a barrier that launched all of the Drones up in the sky. After clearing through wave after wave of Drones, including the latest batch of Titan Drones, he enters the Drone Tower, knowing that is where Gelorum's throne is.
Upon climbing up to Gelorum's throne room, Gelorum welcomes the Chosen One to her place. She states that with all of the Accelechargers 200 years ago, she had managed to kill almost all humanity, but the nuclear strikes by the military forces in the past had managed to thwart their efforts. Having coming out of hiding after surviving the nuclear fallout via their underground shelters with Hot Wheels City, which was the former Racing Drones HQ, destroyed from the nukes, Gelorum and her Drones have rebuilt their empire of Drones to start the second fallout with all Accelechargers again. The Chosen One then punches Gelorum with their Drone Arm precisely during the monologue she was saying was making them angry. Gelorum, after being knocked down from the heavy punch, angrily back says "Now, it's time to die." Gelorum and the Chosen One get into a fight, where Gelorum has superior reflexes than the other drones, despite having the inability to use ranged weapons. One point when the Chosen One tries to parry an energy blast from Gelorum which charges out of her fist, she manages to overpower them. Then, upon managing to puncture her armor with their weapons, which cause green blood to spill, Gelorum then stops, and states that "they cannot kill her, and that she is immortal with all of the Accelechargers." The Chosen One, with the heavy strength granted from their Power Armor, grabs Gelorum and then throws her across the room towards a wall, where Gelorum becomes enraged after getting up from being slammed to the wall.
Upon trying to execute Gelorum via choking her with their arms, Gelorum lets out a shockwave that knocks them back. "You think you have won, human, but the only true way to win, is SURVIVAL.", where Gelorum, with her eyes turning green, transforms into her true Titan Drone form, revealing that her human-looking skin is actually a cyborg. The Chosen One is put on a fight against Gelorum's true form, where they at first uses their guns, only for Gelorum to block most of them via her extremely tough armor including her shoulder blades. The Chosen One, upon seeing that Gelorum had taken all of their Accelechargers and managed to regain the golden aura that caused the fallout 200 years ago, realizes what he needed to do; he had to cripple Gelorum once and for all so she can't fight them anymore. Reaching for their secret weapon that they had acquired from Elder Stan before going on the mission, the Circuit Killer grenade, he then throws the grenade at Gelorum, which causes her circuits to malfunction and bring her Accelecharger aura down. After damaging Gelorum with their guns now that he brought her defenses down, The Chosen One then finishes Gelorum off via overheating her circuits via damage and then with all of their strength, executes Gelorum via decapitating her head off, causing her robot body to fall down on the ground powering down. Utilizing the golden aura which renders them invincible, they then throw it down the tower, causing it to shatter into broken circuits and metal, and then destroys Gelorum's robotic head to pieces via shooting it with a Drone cannon.
After defeating Gelorum and an army of drones that had run up to the throne room after the scene, the Chosen One then finds the master control panel which contains the nuclear defenses. With their weapons, they destroy the control panel, causing an explosion to occur which causes the power outage to occur at the Racing Drones HQ. Realizing that they had set off the alarms from destroying the defense systems, the Chosen One fights their way out from security robots and turrets. After leaving the tower which more explosions occur from the fires spreading, the Chosen One then reports to Elder Stan via his radio that Gelorum is dead and the nuclear defense systems have been destroyed, and calls for a nuclear strike on their fortress. After this, he boards Gelorum's car, the RD-09, and then drives it back to the Brotherhood of Steel while in the meantime, a second nuke, powered with magnetic energy, is then dropped on the fortress, which causes it to explode with all of the Racing Drones destroyed in the radius. With the Racing Drones on the way out, the Brotherhood of Steel, the leader Elder Stan, celebrates this victory on how they managed to defeat the forces that caused the fallout 200 years ago. In response to this, the Brotherhood of Steel aims to take the fight against the Racing Drones onto other countries across the globe, knowing that the threat is still at large and possibly more leaders like Gelorum taking over, but with the technologies and research the Chosen One has acquired, they believe they got what it takes to defeat the Drones and retake the globe.
THE END...?
After the credits, it then statics again and crashes, where the following message appears afterward on a black background with a sci-fi tension sound effect playing;
Meanwhile in another timeline...
The screen then statics to reveal the opening scene again, the re-enactment of the opening of Speed of Silence, where the Wheel of Power is spinning and with the alarms going off, and followed with Dr. Tezla saying "The following drivers will enter the-" before he stops and realizes that the icon on the Wheel of Power goes to none other than the Racing Drones HQ, but instead of the Drones coming out, its the Silencerz instead, as purple and white cars jump out of the portal instead. At the same time, just when Dr. Tezla was about to ask his assistant robot, Gig, where the drivers are right now, Gig instead turns on him as he transforms back into his Silencer form, switching from his black and orange color palette to his original white and purple color palette.
Suddenly, just as about when Gig was going to activate his taser after having knocked Dr. Tezla down, the screen (as well as the audio) then freezes and stutters, where it then cuts to black and then after two seconds...
ERROR
the screen then instantly shows a blue screen with a frowning face, with the stuttering audio continuing. The screen then zooms out with the stuttering audio fading out, where it then reveals a nerd sitting in a computer desk at night, where the blue screen was revealed to be his computer crashing, who then exclaims upon making a fist on his desk; "That's not going to work! That idea was already taken!", where the nerd then gets into bed, where he then says "...Man."
The screen then fades out and then appears the following message on a black screen.
This could be representative of your typical fanfiction, or maybe not...
...or is it?
The scene then shows the nerd, who is a black-haired man with geek glasses wearing a red shirt standing in the black screen on the left. After that, the game then fades to black to return to the title screen.
But he'll be back.
Gameplay
Startup
The game boots up similarly to the other Fallout games, except instead of panning through title screen, the main menu shows the spinning Wheel of Power in the Acceledrome, representing the intro of Speed of Silence, though without the alarms and only the sound of the Wheel of Power. When starting a new game for the first time, the intro of the game begins as it is pre-rendered.
Main Game
The main game plays more like the Bethesda-style Fallout games, being first person shooters where you can acquire materials and various weapons across the world. However, there is a more linear approach as you are automatically aligned with the Brotherhood of Steel and takes place in an alternate universe that fuses both Hot Wheels: Acceleracers and Fallout.
The game runs on the same engine as Fallout 4 and features the same green HUD.
The game has many unique selling points that are unique to this crossover, including the ability to equip an Accelecharger that functions as your super ability to use in battle, as well as being able to fight robots and salvage them for parts for your Power Armor.
Stats & Skills
While there are skills in this game, there are fewer in this game as this game is much shorter and more linear than the other three Fallout games (3, New Vegas, and 4). There are only five skills and each of them are focused on different types of builds.
Equipment
Guns
These are guns that you can acquire throughout the game. These, ranging from pistols, assault rifles, to shotguns and sniper rifles, take various types of ammunition. They can be acquired from shops via bottlecaps, the currency of the Fallout franchise, or can be acquired from exploration.
What this game does differently from other Fallout games is that there are a limited selection of weapons that are acquired throughout progressing the game, as this game does not use a random weapon generator due to its more linear nature.
Double-barrel Shotgun | Starting weapon. It fires dual shotgun rounds. |
Burst-Three Rifle | A combat rifle that fires in bursts of three.
Acquired from completing the mission "Defense of the Brotherhood". |
Wasteland Hawk | A magnum that fires heavy concentrated bullets. Can be dual-wielded.
Can be bought from the Gunsmith. |
Lever Shotgun | A shotgun that is lever-action and can be reloaded with only one hand. Can be dual-wielded.
Can be bought from the Gunsmith. Lever Shotguns take the same type of ammunition as the Double-barrel Shotgun, the starting weapon. |
Archer Rocket Launcher | A rocket launcher that deals massive damage. Has homing capabilities and specializes in taking down airborne units. You have to be careful while using this, as there is however self-damage from being too close to the explosions. |
BX Magnum | A long-range sniper rifle. Requires aiming skill, but excels at anti-air purposes. |
O-998 SAW | A machine gun that deals moderate damage. Because of its heavy weight, it will slow you down while firing. |
EMP Taser | An electric gun that fires electric shocks, but has short range. It however, does not require any form of ammunition.
Acquired from completing the side-mission "Spider Project". |
Magnetic Grenade Launcher | A grenade launcher that fires magnetic grenades that do damage without the risk of self-damage. Compared to the Archer Rocket Launcher, it lacks in terms of damage output. |
Melee Weapons
You can also collect melee weapons which you can use to fight off against enemies including heavier Drones which have resistances to puncture/bullet damage, which is commonly seen on guns. Note however that melee weapons can break.
Drone Weapons
These are the Racing Drone branded weapons that you can get. However, unlike normal weapons where you can reload them, these weapons cannot be reloaded as they take energy. However, their lithium-powered batteries have a tenacity to be explosive, so you can throw them and have them explode like a grenade due to them overheating.
RD-C1 | A Racing Drones powered cannon. It fires heavy explosive orbs, but can only fire three before having to throw it. |
RD-C2 | A Racing Drones powered assault rifle. It fires blaster bolts that deal low-to-medium damage. You can fire 25 before having to throw it. |
RD-C3 | A Racing Drones powered railgun. It fires concentrated high-speed plasma that deals heavy damage. You can fire three charged railgun shots before having to throw it. |
RD-C4 | A Racing Drones powered torpedo launcher. You can fire a "Slam Ram" style missile that will launch Drones and even puncture them. However, you can only fire one, and as you launch the Slam Ram, you immediately lose it afterward. |
RD-C5 | A Racing Drones powered charge. You can throw a bomb in front of you, and when you press the charge, you immediately blow it up. |
RD-C6 | A Racing Drones powered laser drill. Unlike the railgun, the laser drill fires a concentrated laser beam that deals damage the longer the trigger is held. |
Accelechargers
Upon getting the Accelecharger Slot for your Drone Arm, you can use Accelechargers. Unlike Hot Wheels: Acceleracers, which only benefit the car, in Fallout: Rise of Gelorum, since you are wearing the Accelecharger it will affect you as a person entirely, not just your vehicle/Power Armor. To limit the use of these, excessive use of the Accelechargers decreases your Gun Accuracy via tremors on your hands and increases the damage you take. After disengaging, it takes 10-20 seconds to recover from Accelecharger Tremor. Some parts require the use of Accelechargers to get past, including getting pass a lightning barrier that won't let you pass until you use the Lightning Conductor Accelecharger.
The golden invincibility aura which is activated from using all Accelechargers cannot be used in the game and is only used on several cutscenes.
Magno-Gravity (Neon Pipeline) |
You will be able to walk up walks and even upside down on ceilings.
This Accelecharger has a green aura and is acquired throughout the game's storyline. As you won't have the Accelecharger Slot by the time you acquire it, you won't be able to use it yet. |
Reflection (Metro) | You will be able to reflect ranged attacks towards enemies. Note however that missiles, chemical weapons or melee attacks cannot be reflected.
This Accelecharger has a brown aura. |
Two-Dimensional Chaos (Monument) |
You will become two-dimensional, gaining the ability to walk through enemies and even pass through some tiny areas that you can't get past.
This Accelecharger has a cyan aura. |
Lightning Conductor (Storm) | You will become coated in electric energy which gives you immunity to electricity, but also make electric attacks/damage heal you.
This Accelecharger has a purple aura. |
Energy Glass (Original) | You will be able to absorb damage from enemies and then launch the shield to deal damage to enemies once this Accelecharger releases after 20 seconds.
This Accelecharger has a yellow aura. |
Pyrokinetic Blitz (Lava) | Your melee attacks (fists, etc) are increased to deal more damage. Comes with the additional effect of doing napalm damage which can melt Drones with ease.
This Accelecharger has a red aura. |
Illusion Portal (Warped) | You will have a 50% chance of voiding enemy damage via warping the damage taken to another dimension. Additionally, if this Accelecharger is active, any damage that would prove fatal will be nullified.
This Accelecharger has a green aura. |
Water Runner (Water) | You will gain the ability to run on water without falling or taking chemical damage.
This Accelecharger has a cyan aura. |
Unknown Accelecharger (???) |
"ERROR: Data unavailable for this Accelecharger. Use with caution."
Upon using this Accelecharger, the area around you will be encoded in an aura. The effects of this Accelecharger change depending on the targets it affects. Here are the possible effects;
This Accelecharger has a green aura and is acquired throughout a side mission called "Covert Operation" |
The Circle (???) |
"ERROR: Data unavailable for this Accelecharger. Use with caution."
Upon using this Accelecharger, you will gain a white energy aura that will allow you to utilize telekinetic powers, where your melee Drone Arm attacks can knockback drones from a distance. This Accelecharger has a white aura and is found from the destroyed Wheel of Power in the ruins of the Acceledrome. |
World
Environment
Each area has an environment which determines their structure, how they are built, etc.
Wasteland | The outdoor post-apocalyptic wasteland which formed right after the nukes dropped. |

RD-T2 | |
RD-T3 | |
RD-T4 | |
RD-T5 | |
RD-T6 | |
Gelorum Type-T | |
RD Prototype | An inactive Drone prototype. You cannot attack it normally. You need the use of the "Unknown Accelecharger" to disable his shield, which is obtained as part of the Covert Operation side mission. |
Cyborg Drones
Cyborg Drones were originally humans that were modified by drones. They are first introduced in the Drones Butchery, where you must investigate after receiving intel that the Drones have been experimenting with humans. All four of the Cyborg Drones are considered "boss-grade" enemies and can only be fought once per playthrough.
"Kadeem" | Full name Brian Zone Kadeem, he was taken by the Racing Drones after his car fell off the Storm Realm. Being the first of the Cyborg Drones, he believes that they can change everything else with his new Drone body. |
"Dr. Tezla" | Dr. Tezla, who was the first target to go after during Gelorum's fallout with every Accelecharger. Long believed to be dead, he and Gig were actually taken by the Drones and selected to be the second of the Cyborg Drones, as Gelorum aimed to use him after seeing Kadeem succeed in the Drone Butchery. Additionally, Gig has been reprogrammed to work for the Racing Drones, switching from his orange affiliate colors to green. |
"National Guard Leader" | A National Guard Leader with an unknown real name. During the Global War Against the Racing Drones, he had led thousands of soldiers, tanks, and other weaponry to fight off thousands of Drone soldiers and units. However, Gelorum's soldiers, with the golden Accelecharger aura, proved to be too strong for them. Prior to the nuclear fallout, Gelorum had taken him alive and had an idea; to try and turn the humans into cyborgs for world domination. He was the only human not affiliated with Dr. Tezla to be taken underground prior to the nukes. After the nuclear fallouts, the Drones would then build the Butchery to start the cyborg experiments, which included him. |
"Agent X" | Agent X was a soldier of the Brotherhood of Steel who had previously worked under Elder Stan to track down the Racing Drones. However, he has fallen off the radio and was suspected to have been killed in battle. Then, it was discovered that Agent X wasn't actually killed, but worse; he was taken by the Drones as part of their cyborg testing, and in the tests, his body succeeded and marked him the fourth Cyborg Drone.
Unlike the other three Cyborg Drones, this one is fought in a sidequest. |
Air Vehicles
These are Drones that attack from above either from planes or from other airborne methods. As usual, you will need either a sniper rifle or an Archer rocket launcher to shoot down the planes due to their distance.
RD-A1 | A Drone-powered jet that can fire green energy blasts from above. |
RD-A2 | |
RD-A3 | |
RD-A4 | |
RD-A5 | |
RD-A6 |
Ground Vehicles
These are Racing Drone manufactured cars. You can't drive on them as they are programmed to not function on any human presence. However, in the mission where you have to raid the Drones' fortress, you will have to build a special suit which as part of the disguise, will allow you to operate one.
RD-01 | A normal heavy Racing Drones-powered car. |
RD-02 | An insect-shaped Racing Drones-powered car. It has the ability to fire explosive energy blasts. |
RD-03 | |
RD-04 | |
RD-05 | Driven by the higher-ranked Racing Drones, this car, in the shape of a truck, has the ability to transform into a Slam Ram and fire a heavy payload. |
RD-06 | |
RD-09 | Gelorum's car. Reportedly known for having the fastest engine and being the most powerful of the Racing Drones' cars. Legend has it that this car's massive durability guarantees its immortality to Accelecharger Tremor, the effects of using an Accelecharger for too long.
Only seen in the prologue, and only driven after defeating Gelorum in the ending. |
Trivia
- During the battle against Gelorum, she will often times remark how "people would refer to her as a changeling robot." This quote is a reference to Queen Chrysalis from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which the voice actor of Gelorum, Kathleen Barr, also played.
- Unlike the original show, the Accelechargers in this game are different than the ones in the original animated series, as they have been refitted to work on soldiers/Drones instead of just cars. For example, the Storm Realm Accelecharger grants the driver immunity to lightning, but in Fallout: Rise of Gelorum, the Storm Realm Accelecharger, Lightning Conductor, is changed to heal the user upon taking lightning damage.
- The frowning face blue screen is a reference to the Windows 8-present BSOD, also known as the Blue Screen of Death.
Acceleracers References
- The Unknown Accelecharger has the same icon that appears on the Wheel of Power in the opening scene from Speed of Silence & the pre-fallout prologue, the one that leads to the Racing Drones HQ. Additionally, the other similar Unknown Accelecharger, "The Circle", has the same icon as The Ultimate Race, also known as the Sphere.
- In the original opening of Speed of Silence, Dr. Tezla is shown without his exoskeleton armor that he wears for the remainder of the series on the second half of Ignition. In this game, he retains his exoskeleton armor during that same cutscene. This is made for contrast, as this alternate universe was based on the idea of what if the opening of Speed of Silence was not a dream the whole time.
- In the Drone Butchery, one of the machines is a human-body shaped Drone coffin machine, which is the same one used to mutate Kadeem into drone form during the events of Breaking Point.
- The Nitrium, remodeled in the Racing Drones colors; green and black. was Dr. Tezla's car back when he was working with the Silencerz before leaving to form his own team, as seen in the beginning of Ignition.
- Inside the Acceledrome Ruins, you can find documents in Dr. Tezla's room. One of the documents mentions three "M.I.A Drivers". The names are Alec Wood, Banjee Castillo, and Dan Dresden. Banjee Castillo's car was seen in the Swamp Realm, but it was said that the Silencerz may have rescued him through unknown means. All three drivers were previously driving for Dr. Tezla in the Racing Realms, but never made it back prior to the events of Ignition.
- The Accelecharger Tremor mechanic is based off the scene in Speed of Silence where Nolo tests out the Swamp Realm Accelecharger on the High Voltage, but eventually ends up damaging it due to excessive use of said Accelecharger. In The Ultimate Race, Gelorum's car, the RD-09, is shown to be immune to these effects.
- The "Deora... III?" sidequest revolves around the other half of the Deora II, Vert Wheeler's original car which was cut in half just as it entered the portal when it was about to close in the Storm Realm. Given that Kadeem fell into the Racing Drones HQ in the Storm Realm, it is also assumed that the other half of the Deora II fell into the Racing Drones HQ after the portal closed on it, cutting it in half.
