Final Smash | Mega Charizard X |
Charizard is a playable veteran character in Super Smash Bros. Calamity. Charizard is the final evolution for Charmander who evolves after Charmeleon and the mascot for Pokémon Red and its remake, Pokémon FireRed.
Changes[]
New on-screen appearance, Charizard is released from a Pokéball, flying from above and lands stomping the ground.
Charizard has a new taunt, which its standard taunt, where it flaps its wings twice to hover before striking a pose and roaring.
New victory pose, which replaces its "roaring" victory pose; Charizard lazily yawns and takes a nap on the floor in a burly manner; reminiscent of Ash's Charizard in the Pokémon anime, who tended to cease fighting and take naps on serious battles, disobeying all orders (which can also happen in the actual Pokémon games).
New jab, a wing strike which, while only hitting once, it can be used for combo starters and an aerial follow-up due to its low base knockback.
New forward tilt, a chomp forward, which is much more stronger in terms of damage.
Up tilt now has less knockback, which makes it weaker in terms of knockback, but easier to juggle with.
Down tilt is now its old forward tilt from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.
New back aerial, a wing attack similar to its up tilt, but it deals less knockback and damage.
Up aerial is now its Super Smash Bros. Brawl up aerial, which is stronger.
Forward throw is now Heat Wave, where Charizard releases a strong burst of flames that can kill at 115%.
Up special is now Fire Spin, which is similar to Fly animation-wise, but is different in aesthetic-wise, damage-wise, knockback-wise and distance-wise; Charizard surrounds itself in flames during the rise, and the move deals more damage and knockback but covers less distance.
