Argider Zorion is a human-Angsalvin hybrid orphan, who took to thievery to ensure the survival of himself and his brother Aritz.
Appearance[]
Argider is closer to a human than an Angsalvin, with his dark skin tone, rounded ears and mismatched colour scheme, though he retains the characteristic inverted eyes and body markings of the Angsalvine. He has black hair naturally, which he started dying blond at one point to avoid being recognised by his previous capturers, with pale blue eyes and body markings.
His clothing can be described as a mix between Angsalvine and human attire. He wears a dark purple Angsalvin-like jacket, which is opened at the top and slightly at the bottom, with loose pinkish sleeves, human-like grey shorts and dark blue shoes.
At times Argider has been known to wear more typical human or Angsalvin clothing to fit in. When wearing the latter he dyes his hair a pale blue to avoid being found out as half-Angsalvin.
Personality[]
Argider is resourceful and very willing to go to any length to help others, though as a result of being very exposed to the elements he has a weakened morality, making some of his methods seem questionable.
Argider often acts as if danger could come to him at any moment. This leads to various actions such as being hasty with conversations, never staying in one place for long, and refusing to give out certain information. As a result he is difficult to get on the good side of, with most finding him to be rude or apathetic.
Story[]
Argider was born to a human father, Hodei Zorion, an Angsalvin mother, Lilita Tiribalt - a relationship that is considered a taboo in Angsalvine society. Three years later Argider's younger brother, Aritz, was born to the same parents. He was unable to live a normal life as he could be instantly found out as a hybrid, so Lilita hid herself and her children from sight for many years. When Argider was five years old, however, Lilita was found out, and fearing judgement she gave her sons to Hodei and told him to run to his old home.
Although Hodei did return to his home country, he decided to live hiding in a forest with Argider and Aritz as he didn't want to be found out for loving an Angsalvin. After another three years, Hodei committed suicide for an unclear reason - the most likely answer, and the one Argider believes, was that he couldn't bear to keep such a great secret and deckded to end his life to escape it. Argider quickly found the whereabouts of his father's dead body, along with the twin daggers he'd carried with him and used in the suicide. Since then he has always taken the daggers with him.
Argider was concerned for himself and Aritz, deciding to make a home for them in the branches of a tree concealed in the forest. However, with no means of providing for themselves, Argider decided that his only option was to take up thieving, sneaking into his father's hometown nightly to take what he and his brother needed to survive.
Argider was captured once when he was twelve years old, due to the careless mistake of stealing too much at once. He was sentenced to six years of imprisonment, and while jailed he began taking an interest in the unique blade-firing weaponry the prison guards carried with them. At the age of fourteen he plotted and perfectly executed a breakout, managing to steal two sets of the blade launchers used by the guards in the process.
With Aritz nowhere to be found in his old home, Argider decided to search for his brother, who he managed to find hidden in a small forest community living with other half-Angsalvine. Over these two years Aritz had been taught Angsalvine magic by the half-Angsalvine who had led better lives. Though he was happy with this life, Argider managed to deduce that the half-Angsalvine community wouldn't be able to last much more than a year, and so invited Aritz to move back in with him.
Since then Argider has managed to maintain a relatively stable living for himself and Aritz over the course of eight years. He has since modified the blade-launchers he stole from the prison guards into similar gadgets for himself, which he always uses with Hodei's two daggers. He has also given the launchers an additional property of attaching the daggers to chains, allowing them to be easily returned to their holsters. In recent days, he has taken up exploring treasure-filled caverns and other such sites.
Abilities[]
Chain-Dagger Gadget[]
Argider has a natural talent for technology, having been interested in some of his father's old contraptions while he was alive. wields unique gadgets that consist of dagger-on-chain launchers attached to the wrists. These are based on a blade-launching weapon that he stole from some prison guards when he escaped capture eight years ago, though they have been modified to make the blades easily return to him.
Relations[]
Aritz Zorion[]
Argider is fiercely protective over Aritz, being his only surviving relative. Although Aritz dislikes Argider's scoundrelly, the brothers have a very close friendship due to being largely the only people they interact with daily.
Diana Zilvana[]
Argider and Diana ran into each other once while exploring a dungeon. Argider didn't think much of Diana, though she in turn was averted to him as a result of being half-Angsalvine. The two got to know each other, however, and gradually became fairly comfortable, though still quite unfriendly, with each other. Argider considers himself to be Diana's rival as the two share a love for exploration.
Trivia[]
- Argider was originally designed for a character-creation blog for the project of another user. This project has seemingly gone nowhere, leaving Argider as an unused character who Mirror later repurposed for the Fantendoverse Tau.
- Argider has never used his surname as it gives people less to go off of in identifying him. Partly as a result of this, his brother Aritz doesn't even know his surname.
- Argider has several similarities with Strafe Lockborne. Both are hybrids known for rebellious actions (albeit much more so in Argider's case). Strafe refusing to use his surname also bears similarities to Argider avoiding any mention of his surname.
