The Fairy Beginning is the 41st episode of Season 9.
Plot[]
Cosmo loses his fairy diploma because they notice that he did not present his final school assignment. Timmy will lose Cosmo, unless they look at Cosmo's past at the Fairy Academy. How will Timmy convince Jorgen to allow Cosmo to stay with him?
Synopsis[]
Timmy is fixing his hair with Sparky when Cosmo and Wanda show up and show him their old yearbook from the Fairy Academy for ideas. While looking at the yearbook, they find a picture of Cosmo with his diploma and watch it suddenly disappear. At that moment, Jorgen appears and explains the diploma was revoked because the Fairy Council had discovered Cosmo never passed in his final paper. This means he never officially graduated and became a Fairy Godparent. Cosmo insists that he turned in his paper, but Jorgen tells him if he can't prove it, he will no longer be a Fairy Godparent, and since he and Wanda are a team, Timmy will lose both of them.
After Jorgen leaves, the group looks through Cosmo's memories with his memory chip to see if Cosmo did turn it in. While looking through his memories, they see Cosmo angering Jorgen, Cupid, and Juandissimo in several classes. They soon find a memory of Cosmo turning in his paper, but someone steals it and Timmy spits apple juice in the memory upon seeing this. Jorgen then comes back and tells Cosmo he has less than half an hour to prove he turned in his paper. When they show Jorgen the memory of the paper being taken, it is damaged by the apple juice and Jorgen leaves again.
They try to find who took away Cosmo's paper and decide it was either Jorgen, Cupid or Juandissimo. They watch who Cosmo might have angered hence earning an enemy who might have wanted revenge. They see Cosmo was helpful to Cupid (admittedly painfully helpful) and that he assisted Jorgen in meeting the lady he liked, the Tooth Fairy. When looking at a memory of Juandissimo, they discover Cosmo hit him with a frying pan and he was attracted to it. After determining none of the suspects were responsible, Jorgen returns again and tells Cosmo time was up.
Wanda then confesses she was the one who took the paper, much to the shock of everyone. She explains that she took it because she was afraid Cosmo wouldn't pass and they wouldn't be a team. Then Cosmo was accidentally passed anyway, and Wanda believed it was behind her until the Fairy Council realized their mistake. She then pulls the paper from her hair and reveals it held it up all this time. However, upon checking the paper, Jorgen reveals it was blank, and Cosmo reveals he wrote it in disappearing ink to prevent someone from copying him.
Jorgen tells Cosmo he can't be a Fairy Godparent anymore, but Timmy tells him that Cosmo was granting wishes at the academy by helping Jorgen get together with the Tooth Fairy and fixing Cupid's aim. Hearing this, Jorgen decides to ask the Fairy Council to give Cosmo his diploma back and leaves.
Meanwhile, Dad spends the day with a beaver, who he mistook for Timmy due to it wearing his hat. At the end of the episode, he told Mom about good news and bad news, as the good news as he beat 'Timmy' of his ping pong game, while the bad news that 'Timmy' was taken to the forest by a ranger.
Mom told him that he should've told him to take the 'beaver' in Timmy's room, but Dad decides to do it himself. The episode ended with Timmy, Sparky and the fairies putting on mustaches and going on the run before poofing away, when Cosmo poofs back into Timmy's room and breaks the fourth wall by telling the audience that Jorgen was wearing mascara.
