"An Impossible Love Affair" is a song by Giancarlo Pasquini and Karen J. Wainwright under their aliases of Dave & Karen. Originally produced in 2003, it took 19 years to make its first and only album appearance on "Super Eurobeat Presents Initial D The Best Of Dream Collection" on January 7, 2022. The song was written by Giancarlo Pasquini, Karen J. Wainwright and Cathal Lennon (who was not credited on it album debut); composed by Mauro Malavasi with Pasquini and Sandro Oliva; and produced by Pasquini as Dave Rodgers. This last is, of course, assumed, since it was not credited in the album.

[Verse 1]
All these words that you keep saying
Break(s) my heart 'cause you keep playing
All around the town hear(ing) your name
It's breaking me in

[Pre-Chorus]
Two plus two you promised forever
Believing our love was true
Never imagine baby, that we'd ever be apart

[Chorus]
We keep running away, running away
Another day I watch you by my side
You know nothing ever breaks me down
Like an impossible love affair
We keep running away, running away
Another day I watch you by my side
You know nothing ever breaks me down
Like an impossible love affair
(I believe)

[Verse 2]
I believe that you have secrets
You don't want to share with me
It's a life you have the right to choose
Nothing to lose

Trivia[]

  • The JASRAC J-WID listing of the song credits Giancarlo Pasquini, Mauro Malavasi and Sandro Oliva as the composers; and Karen J. Wainwright as the only songwriter. However, in the SIAE listing list the same composers, but they list Pasquini as the songwriter with someone called Cathal Lennon. The could may be a mistake, since there is no credits to Wainwright.
