Summary
[edit | edit source]Description |
3D view of needle spinning about its symmetry axis that precesses half as fast about the z-axis. A needle has two rotational freedoms. First rotation about symmetry axis, second rotation of symmetry axis about a fixed axis. Adjusting angle between both axes and spinning velocities, one finds stable spinning modes. Picture shows angle = 45° and angular velocities ratio = -1/2. |
