I am an American who has been to 28 foreign countries. These are some of the more memorable places that I have seen. I highly recommend these to everyone.

• Austria

• 
  Innsbruck settles nicely along the mountains.
• 
  Salzburg, as shown from the heights overlooking the city. I never got to go up this high there!

• Bahrain

• 
  Manama, the capital city, is very, very clean and has the nicest mall I have ever seen in the Seef district.

• Canada

• 
  Mont Royal is a park in the center of the city on a small mountain. It has the best views of the city!
• 
  The La Ronde amusement park is great fun, and it sits next to the casino!
• 
  A complete view of Québec City from the heights. Québec at its very best!
• 
  The Chateau Frontenac in Québec City is so beautiful and yet so expensive!
• 
  The Saint Lawrence river is best along the central part of Québec and north of Québec City.
• 
  Fort Chambly, located on the Richelieu river, is a fort which is well preserved and provides a great place to picnic and things.
• 
  Ste Anne de Beaupré, off the St. Lawrence near Québec, is perhaps the most beautiful cathedral in Canada.
• 
  Niagara Falls, Ontario is a thriving city which borders a great natural wonder.

  I wish I could recommend Djibouti, but I truly feel heartache for these people. It is a miserable place.

  The Hagia Sophia in Istanbul is the most amazing form of Byzantine architecture on a massive scale.
• 
  Suleymaniye Mosque is huge and yet beautiful, complete with blue tile from Iznik (Nicaea).
• 
  Topkapi Palace has so many different distinct features, including a weapons museum. Read about its history BEFORE you go.
• 
  Chora Church in Istanbul (today called the Kariye Museum). It contains some of the most beautiful frescoes I have ever seen.
• 
  The Tünel in Istanbul is an old incline tunnel that takes you from Galata to Taksim via a modern train. Awesome!
• 
  Priene, my favorite archaeological site in Turkey.
• 
  Didim (Didyma)is an excellent example of massive columns and was once an oracle!
• 
  Efes (Ephesus) is the most popular archaeological site, containing a huge amount of structures. This is the Celsus library.
• 
  Pamukkale (Hierapolis) is a wonderful example of natural beauty.
• 
  Marmaris is perhaps the most perfect beach in all of Turkey.
• 
  Near Çanakkale, on the Gallipoli peninsula. You see why the World War I landings failed right off.
• 
  Uludağ is a great skiing area, and the hotels are first rate.
