Townhouse Studios (officially named The Town House) is a recording studio in West London. Built by Richard Branson in the 1970s, it was later acquired by EMI and has belonged to Sanctuary Records since 2002. The building has three recording rooms (confusingly numbered 1, 2 and 4 for historical reasons) and a separate writing suite. Artists that have recorded at Townhouse Studios include Beyonce, Bryan Ferry, Coldplay, Muse, Duran Duran, Elton John, Envy & Other Sins, Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Minogue, Oasis, Queen and Robbie Williams.
