Notability
[edit]@Reconrabbit Thanks so much for the feedback. Yes, it is easy to assume that reading resources are accessible to all. But in my part of the world, that's not always the case. For example, the education department did not supply reading materials to 890 primary schools https://www.news24.com/news24/southafrica/news/mpumalanga-education-department-fails-to-supply-top-up-reading-material-to-grade-3-pupils-20241106. A very small percentage of children’s books that are commercially published are in a local African languages. https://www.citizen.co.za/rekord/news-headlines/2025/02/02/world-read-aloud-day-why-it-matters/. This is a big contribution to the reading crisis. Hope that explains it clearer? Derek J Moore (talk) 07:18, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
