Joan Peters

Joan Peters (born 1938) is a former CBS news producer and author best known for her controversial book on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, From Time Immemorial, published in 1984.
Peters has also written for magazines such as Harper's, Commentary, The New Republic, and The New Leader in the 1970s and early 1980s. She also helped create a series of TV news documentaries for CBS in 1973 regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and has provided commentary on the subject for PBS.
During the Carter administration she served in the government as a subject expert on issues related to the Middle East. She is currently a trustee for The National Committee on American Foreign Policy, and serves on its executive committee.
