English: A pair of fossilized compound eyes from the Florissant Formation. It is one of many I have found of a ubiquitous little insect of the order Diptera which I have yet to identify, sporting a banded abdomen and feathery antennae, approximately 5mm long on average. It appears similar to members of the families Chironomidae and Chaoboridae.
