Rounds

Well, I just listened to Rounds for the first time despite having been vaguely aware of Four Tet's stuff for years - and lo and behold, the first track is a piece used in a BBC ident years ago that I actually wrote to them asking for the name of, and the person who responded didn't know! Guess I have some catching up to do. Popcornduff (talk) 02:51, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

@Popcornduff: Ha! That's probably my favourite ever post on my talk page - really made me smile! What a great way to start 2015, Happy New Year! — sparklism hey! 05:31, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
It's silly - even though I've heard lots of bits and pieces of Four Tet, including lots of his remixes, I never took the time to listen to Rounds before. What a beautiful album. I'm glad I did that GA, or it might have taken me even longer to get round (ho ho) to it. Popcornduff (talk) 17:42, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
I guess the GA process worked brilliantly for us both, then. IMHO it's a true modern electronic classic, absolutely chock-full of ideas and beauty. Glad you like it! (FWIW, everything he did after this point is also worthy of your time, but this is the real high point. There's also a single he released about the same time, "I'm On Fire", which is very close to the sound of Rounds). — sparklism hey! 17:47, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

Third

Do you want to have a go at getting the Third article to GA? Popcornduff (talk) 19:31, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

Yep, I do. In fact, I'm 100% up for that. I'm pretty busy for the next few days though ('tis the season...) - can you wait a few days? (I'll likely still be on-wiki, but probably not got the time for any real content contributions - still, you never know!) Cheers! :) — sparklism hey! 19:52, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
I've added a Music section, if you want to check it out. There's still room for expansion. Popcornduff (talk) 19:32, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
And a Background section based on an interview I just found. Popcornduff (talk) 23:10, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

DYK for Rounds (album)

First DYK

You're free to bow out of the DYK review if you wish, but I wanted to leave a note that you shouldn't feel discouraged from reviewing. I think the closers were just looking to make sure you checked the other DYK criteria because you didn't explicitly mention it in your review. Take care, czar  17:49, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

Thanks Czar, that's a nice thought. I definitely plan to partake at DYK more in the future - perhaps I was just a little unlucky in choosing a more complex article this time. Cheers! — sparklism hey! 17:52, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
Hopefully Richard Dawson's recent trip to DYK has whetted your appetite for more. I was fortunate to have come across a video of him the same day you started the article and thought I'd spice it up a bit myself. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 23:00, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
It did indeed Ritchie - see below :) — sparklism hey! 21:04, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
