Evgenia Kosigina (born March 28, 1995 in Odintsovo) is a Russian ice dancer who competes with Nikolai Moroshkin. They are the 2011 Russian Junior bronze medalists.

Career

Kosigina began skating to improve her health and took up ice dancing when she was eight.[5] She competed in novice ice dance with Anatoli Kolisgo[6] and later skated with Sergei Mozgov, with whom she debuted on the Junior Grand Prix.[7]

Kosigina teamed up with Nikolai Moroshkin in June 2010 after their previous partners left them.[5] They train in Kosigina's hometown of Odintsovo, near Moscow, coached by Alexei Gorshkov.[5] During the 2010–2011 season, Kosigina and Moroshkin competed for the first time on the ISU Junior Grand Prix. At their first event, the 2010-2011 ISU Junior Grand Prix event in Courchevel, France, they won the bronze medal.[8] At their second event, in Dresden, Germany, they won a gold medal.[9] These medals qualified them for the Junior Grand Prix Final,[10] where they finished 6th. At the 2011 Russian Junior Championships, they won the bronze medal. They were 6th at the 2011 World Junior Championships.

Kosigina and Moroshkin competed in the 2011–2012 Junior Grand Prix, winning silver in Latvia and bronze in Estonia. They finished 5th at the 2012 Russian Junior Championships and were not assigned to Junior Worlds.

Kosigina and Moroshkin received additional coaching from Igor Shpilband in preparation for the 2012–2013 season.[11] Their first Junior Grand Prix event was Lake Placid.
