Bondage suit

A gimp suit is a (colloquial term for a) garment designed to cover the body completely (usually including the hands and feet) and to be very close-fitting. It often has an attached hood; if not, it will be worn with a bondage hood or "gimp mask". It may be made from leather, PVC, rubber, spandex or darlex, although leather (not being stretchy) cannot be as close-fitting as the others.

It is used in BDSM to objectify the wearer, or gimp, and reduce him or her to the status of a sexual toy, rather than a sexual partner. Unless there are suitably placed zips, the breasts and genitals will be inaccessible while the suit is worn (although they can still be massaged).

The term "gimp suit" is rather derogatory - it is barely used by vendors of these garments - they prefer to call it "bondage suit". While it sometimes differs from a catsuit, unitard, or zentai more in purpose than appearance, the typical "gimp suit" is black and of very tear resistant material (often reinforced by straps and barely stretchable) and includes integrated metal rings, belts, buckles and laces to fasten it and engage ropes or chains - e.g. to lift and hang the wearer under the ceiling.
