The ancient motto, inscribed in Latin on a mysterious golden medallion, recovered from the ruins of the Roman Empire, has guided Michael Tiranno to heights few men have achieved. One day, a young Sicilian boy named Michele sneaks a special gold medallion out of his father's hiding place, and plays with it in the barn adjacent to the house where his mother is preparing lunch. He is therefore unharmed when his parents and their farmhands are attacked and murdered by gunmen, and he always credits the medallion with saving his life. He is adopted by a relative who is a Mafia don. Michele immigrates to the United States, changes his name to Michael Tiranno, and becomes a multi-millionaire. He becomes the owner of a newly built casino, called The Seven Sins. However, someone from his past is out to destroy him.

But he also has secrets, secrets that he and Naomi Burns, his driven corporate attorney and confidante, have gone to great lengths to bury. When an enemy from the past threatens to undermine everything he has built, his dark history must now be uncovered. Together, they must tear open painful scars in Michael's heart and soul to discover the true identity of their unknown foe—before

The Seven Sins: The Tyrant Ascending, tells the story of Michael Tiranno (Tiranno is the Italian for “tyrant”) through the story of his harsh childhood in Sicily to his meteoric and unconventional rise in Las Vegas to the creation of an American Empire.

The book, published in 2008, was written by Jon Land, author of over 25 novels. The main character is loosely inspired by Italian entrepreneur Fabrizio Boccardi[1]
